Steps taken:
1. Make reese in 3xosc
2. Distort with Fruity Waveshaper
3. Make the tone morph with notch filters and formant shapes
4. Distort again with Waveshaper
5. Hi-pass
6. Vocode and distort again.

Not the best of reeses, it actually kinda sucks...but I'm gona layer it with another version of itself processed differently to get better midrange and warm it up a bit.
...in my opinion

Idk man it doesn't sound all that bad the idea is pretty sick and its pretty vocal which is pretty cool. Id say it just lacks some of that bass smoothness. Otherwise I think its pretty cool.

Also for some reason I missed the memo on notch filters and shit :corntard: ... what is this notch filter you all speak of? (sorry amateur question)

Yeah, I'm planning to layer it with a smoother version of itself to fix that. and as far as notch filters, some call them band reject or band stop...heres a picture I found on Google:

if a bandpass filter only allows the frequncies that the filter(pass? knob?) is set on then a notch filter does the exact opposite allowing all the frequencies around the filter setting through. it cuts a chunk out.

This one has had no EQ and sounds very rough as it's from a current WIP that hasn't had much work on the bass so far but here you go anyways:

Have been obsessed with reeses lately think ive used them in every tune ive made recently...

These were made through resampling loads of bass samples.....

Also there is a handy bank for massive that has loads of really good bases to work from....

Soundcloud

Suppose these arnt you standard reeses sound more like distorted guitars!!

Aight, since this is a reese thread. I am really strugglin with gettin these full reeses, I mainly get ones with way too much top end that are quite weak in the mid/lo mids.
Soundcloud
Anyone succesfully made one like this? Best example I could come up with.
It's so nice sounding, not too harsh on the top end, and really rich in the mids. Would love for everyone to contribute with their ideas and tries.

EDIT: Stumbeld across this, look at the bottom comments, and who posted :P

Tutorial on the second one if you've got time mate?

edit: dug up some old reeces and a split of an old track that i was working on, i think some of the reeces were originally made in massive, although i'll i'd say massive is hard for making reeces.

What VST are you using for these Reeses?

Anyone else want to mention their favorite vst for Reese Basses?

anyone with logic; open up the es2, select the lead synth patch called "photon blast" run it through a couple of distortion plugs and play it around C0, pretty epic no?
