Well I really want it to be a well rounded education. Like, someone who JUST bought/torrented FL Studio could produce their first track just from our videos, and then he could go on to learn some advanced shit afterwards.

For sure man. Whats your plan on moderating the videos / organization of things? Any thoughts yet?

We should try to incorporate more advanced stuff too dont you think? You can tackle FL and I can do Logic if you want?

just a thought about the tuts.. wouldn't having a million videos of the same thing by different people get messy? like do you really need 5 beginners tutorials for one daw?

maybe think about coming up with a bunch of topics to go over, and have one person volunteer to do one topic. or, if someone wants to do a tutorial, have them commit to doing a series or something starting at simple and going as advanced as they can.

Not the same DAW. We've only come up with 2 tuts so far between Chad and I one is FL one is Logic.

+1

I also like the idea about moderating the videos and having us send you the tuts and then you/whoever is moderating decide which ones go up

We could have:

ONE or TWO videos for the BASICS of each DAW. Where everything is, how to get started, etc. Then have videos from each user on how they work through their songs. Stuff on their own specific workflow, instruments, VSTs, etc.
Fairly new to the producing realm. Only been going about a year and a half.

i've seen probably a dozen people or so already say they'd do one. if it were open uploading there would probably be a lot of repetitiveness in the tutorials

Have a host for tutorials, like machinima, use the forum to horde in homemade tutorials and upload the best ones, will give people looking to learn somewhere to constantly visit, and will mean there's always alot of people contributing, BIAB style.. obviously upload upload music aswell, undetected dubplates are what i yearn for on the tube 8)

I can also do some tutorials on FM8 since there really aren't that many out there along with the other stuff I mentioned. What are you thinking for moderators Chad? I feel like after announcing it a lot of people on DSF are going to want to contribute, just being realistic. Maybe we should come up with a small moderator team kinda quickly so that we can start looking at what the community wants to submit and that way we can get more videos quicker. Also should get that graphic going.... Im pretty good with iMovie, pretty barebones but gets the job done. I could put together that intro video you were talking about in a couple hours tops.

Ok, now that I have a list of 8 contributors, I'mma move on to the next step. Getting the moderation team. I think how it's going to be done is for now it'll be me and CE doing the moderating, and once we get more traffic I'll appoint another person.

How do you guys want to do this? The job of the moderators is basically just quality control over the videos that get uploaded, but idk the best way to do this as videos can get big. I'm thinking we'll just have the video makers upload their video to Mediafire or something like that and PM one of the moderators the link to the DL so they can check it out first, But idk. Thoughts?

And about the GFX, we'll get to that after this.

I agree they should just upload them and PM them to us or email or whatever choice of communication. We're really just going to have to advertise them so that people know about them and can see that this channel exists. I know we can't use the DSF name in our channel but we can definitely link in the description or something that we are affiliated with it and that we are all members of the forum extending out to YouTube. Do our best to have the people that visit hear also learn about the channel so that if they have questions they know that that is always another place to look / to discover cool music and see what we're up to I guess?

And to CE, yes.

Alright then, CE, JR, and myself, are mods.

CE, do you have AIM? Because I'd like to be able to easily communicate with you. Me and JR are already AIM Buddies.
