been mixing since 1996, got some 1210's for my 16th birthday, learned to beat-match in a week, i was surprised but once it clicked in my brain something just locked in and that was that. still got the old tapes of my jungle sets from then.

A fair while, i used to buy UK garage from Big Apple when it was still around, i think the first record i bought that wasn't a re-release or a reissue was a track called Pandoras Box, it was a bootleg that someone done where they cut bits from a few 8 bar tracks like Pulse X and Believe by Dj Wire and jumbled them up with Wiley's Eskimo. I tried to find the tune online but it's not about so if anyone knows when it was released, THAT'S when i started.

Listening back to the likes of Speedy J, LFO,Beltram,Aphex Twin i was surprised how little money the tunes fetch on discogs... Some real gems in that 89-92 techno period for Dubstep producers...

Fave D'n'B tune ever bar none. I remember when i first got my decks and I went to my local record shop and was like "Have you got that tune that goes BAWOWOWOWOWWWWW" Took me a good year to finally i.d. it but was so hyped to get a copy, It was hearing the 9 on a Ray Keith Tape from round 98 that made me decide I wanted to be a DJ
Yes man! It's an absolute classic. I've seen it destroy raves right upto this very day
First heard this on AndyC's show on Kiss, took me months to find out what it was and bought the vinyl even before I had decks.
Had to keep popping round my mates to hear it :) Kind of tune you have to own!!

Very basic shit, bought a Numark Mixtrack Pro with Traktor 2, using my Sennheiser HD518s and about $800 worth of hi-fi for sound. Didn't really wanna spend much considering I'm not even sure this is something I'll be doing for long, but I'm having a great time so far so I don't feel like I need CDJs or turntables any time soon. Save that shit for when I'm good enough to legitimately call myself a DJ without being one of those pretentious stnuc who go around saying they're a DJ cos they just downloaded the demo of Virtual DJ on their MacBook haha

How bout you?

12 years and counting. Strictly vinyl. Drum & Bass head since inception - Dubstep since '08. Never gonna give it up. It runs through my veins.

Yeah I use a pretty basic set up as well. Something called the Reloop Mixage interface, and Sennheiser HD 25s. I bout the headphones a while ago, and learned that they were really good for DJing, and that was pretty nice. I also use traktor pro 2. And  about the whole being called a Dj thing. My friends go around telling people and stuff that I am a Dj and I have to explain that I'm no good, so I wouldn't call myself a Dj.

Loads of em are under a fiver! Crazy stuff. Love that period, especially R&S Records and for me Second Phase - Mentasm is the one.

Started when I was 16. Was lucky since my brother gave me his old 1210s as he only uses CDJs now
