ah yeah, fair enough, it's sad it's come to that, but yeah that would probably come down to brown alley being anti-good music or something haha.

i'm on watergardens side haha, about 5 mins from there.

as far as how i go about tracking events.. facebook really, if you have it, that would be a good start, lol.

if you havn't already liked "heavy innit" australian dubstep label, that would help, they do a fair bit of stuff and are generally in the loop.
you could add my mates promotion account.. http://www.facebook.com/fkdat (was part of the promotion team for 'yellow sunshine') from what i know, he is a promoter, puts on some nights at eurotrash, but he also "attends" a lot of events on facebook, and it comes up in my news feed etc etc so i look at his profile a lot too..

http://brokenbeatassault.com/bassjump12outlook are you aware of this? nice lineup, although it's 60bucks if you want to go to just the club alone, and i reckon it will sell out quickly considering the billboard regulars.. haha.

otherwise by following producers on twitter and facebook.

as far as local stuff, heavy innit seems to be a pretty reliable source.. there facebook: http://www.facebook.com/heavyinnit

other than that, just sheer luck

yeah i think i'm going to pick up a ticket too, probably won't do the boat though, all weather i can be bothered paying an extra $30 to see icicle play a dubstep set, a tiny bit frustrating like that, but smart marketing hahah.

As good as that would be, I'm still more than happy to only catch the dubstep set. The thought of hearing Badman VIP on a system makes me all tingly inside. Oh man...

...what was this thread about again?

i just hope KILL THE NOISE is a special guest!!!

worst thing is i got nobody who would be keen on coming to both, i might get a mate to come to the club, but they'll be like pfffff 60 bucks. if there was a brosteppish artist on the lineup it would be so much easier to get people to come, hahahahaa :(

and yeah, that's why i know i'll regret it, badman VIP, or even just badman on a system, hahahha!

To summarise, I personally don't understand why or how he stands out, but I would like for you to share your insights.

Why do I think he is a good producer? umm because I like his music... he has put out a few great EPs and has a unique style imo obviously EVERYONE here disagrees lol

you are right, he isnt good at producing music

synths in the beginning of the first one sounded like they gave a monkey a casio keyboard, and that was the best part in the song... The grimey/streetbass spot right before he has a recording of a crowd chant his own name for a minute isn't too bad. I think there's a hi hat, snare and kick for the entirety of the rest of the song... (not enough percussion)

second song the intro isn't all bad, I could see that kind of thing being used by someone else (not alot of space though), and after that same KICK SNARE KICK SNARE and it sounds like the same snare from the first song

a computer could make a dubstep song as good as this guy if all "being a good producer" means is having the sickest wubbs

Unique style? Are you fucking kidding me? "Unique" is the last adjective I would use to describe him.

you have to realise that if you post in this really hostile tone people are just gunna respond with hostility , stop taking it all so personally man

It's really very simple, most people here(myself included) don't like KTN and don't find his music particular original or innovative... im sure technically he is a decent producer but in terms of creativity he just seems to be rehashing the same old sounds (in my opinion), no1 is trying to be elitist by listening to "obscure" dubstep and slating fans of KTN, they're just saying that they don't like that kind of sound as it has been done to death vy a million and one other producers

if you like his music thats cool but you can't just throw a hissy fit because a few people here have given negative opinions about him, grow up man, seriously

yea dont get me wrong, this is the internet, i dont care

I just was suprised and frustrated that the topic wasnt even discussed really. All it turned into was "brostep vs. real dubtep" which is just stupid

i was just really suprised that he didnt play his own stuff, and chose to play mainstream hits for the vast majority of his set. Me and all my friends agreed it was unusual and kinda sucked bc we were expecting.... kill the noise... not the top 5 off Circus and OWSLA records lol

it was great man. I liked it a lot.

When im chilling thats what i listed to 90% of the time.

I listen to tons of jkenzo/coki/skream/distance/jakes/phaeleh/biome/etcetcetcetctype stuff that I love and listen to a lot

but i like the bro shit too im not going to lie

But UNFORTUNATELY, that darker stuff is not really an option around here to see live, would be awesome though

trust me if I had a choice between seeing JKenzo and seeing KTN id be at the Jkenzo show :i:

You still didn't really explain why he is a good producer..
You said because you like him.. Does this make him a good producer?
He has put out a few great EPs.. Why are they great? What you consider great might not be the same i would consider great, or anybody else.
He has an unique style.. Oké, is this the reason you think he is a great producer? Just because of the unique style?
Because that is the point, i and a lot others in here don't think he is all that unique.
You keep saying we pretty much hate to much.. But in that same way it seems you love to much, if that makes sense.

umm well its subjective, are you saying he ISNT a good producer? if so I would point out that 99% of people sitting behind the computer trying to put out tracks would shit their pants if they were able to come up with tracks like that. might not be your taste but whatev

anywho...

I think his tracks are well mixed, have great basses and the drums are always fat and tight, he has a good mix of electro and dub tracks, and some funky stuff too, he is diverse.. I think he has some great bass sounds that although you may think are "rinsed garbage" i think are pretty badass.

I mean its subjective... I listen to his stuff and I think "wow this if I was ever able to put this together I would be VERY happy person" and it suits my musical tastes... hence I like his music and I think he is a good producer...
