No Venetian Snares?

One of my favourite records ever.

Word, he's a great all around producer. It's actually one of my favorite tunes to drop in the set because of that build-up. Crank the mids and kill the rest when the lead creeps in and slowly raise the highs and go all out when the main melody starts. Fuck yeah.idontreallygiveashit wrote:Tunes like that make me want to just give up on my own stuffGenevieve wrote:Scheme Boy \(*-*)/
Shame he isn't more prolific

Still waiting for this to get release. Heard it years ago, at Breakcore Gives Me Wood in 2009 AND IT'S STILL NOT OUT.
Venetian Snares is kinda implied every time someone starts a thread on breakcore. I think it's kinda cool that there's more focus on.. well, slightly less talked about stuff this time rather than just the typical VSnares/Bong-Ra/Flashbulb (my favorite producer, btw)/Enduser/Aaron Spectre worship.apmje wrote:No Venetian Snares?
Buuuuuuut on the topic of VSnares. I'm way more into shit like this than his more recent.. post-2004 stuff. Though the Winnipeg record rocked too.

It's my favorite release AND I'VE GOT IT ON WAX. It's the perfect combination of brutal filth and clean songwritin'.

Finally getting round to hearing the extended works of Kevin Martin (The Bug) et al.
Anyone got recommendations for the following;
God
Techno Animal
Ice
Curse of the Golden Vampire
Pressure
King Midas Sound
Any unmentioned Broadrick stuff too.
This album is all over the place too, wicked stuff.

'Brotherhood of the Bomb' and 'Radio Hades' by Techno Animal and the first Curse record are good.

Re: breakcore/noise/other
On the subject of Venetian Snares, yeah his older stuff is lethal and Find Candice and Doll Doll Doll are among his best but absolutely nothing can touch Hospitality, in my eyes. I like that release so much that i can't enjoy the rest of his output as much just because it isn't Hospitality. Top five favourite releases of all time, for real.
Re: breakcore/noise/other
I used to be.. kinda into the style and I do like a few Snares tunes in that style and ACRNYM had a few cool tunes like that too but overal.. dunno. Like Ruby My Dear it just... doesn't work for me. It kinda bores me. As far as Snares goes, I'm more into Doll Doll Doll, Songs About My Cats, Shitfuckers, printff and Greg Hates Car Culture.

Check out Black Chow if you haven't, also.wubstep wrote:Finally getting round to hearing the extended works of Kevin Martin (The Bug) et al.
Anyone got recommendations for the following;
God - The Anatomy of Addiction, Appeal to Human Greed, Possession
Techno Animal - Brotherhood of the Bomb, Techno Animal vs Reality, Eraser EP, Cyclops EP
Ice
Curse of the Golden Vampire - personally preferred Mass Destruction, nothing special though imo
Pressure - only got one single on Hyperdub, I think
King Midas Sound - their first album, not the remix album.
Any unmentioned Broadrick stuff too. - Pale Sketcher, forthcoming JKFlesh album on 3by3, and obviously pretty much anything Godflesh
This album is all over the place too, wicked stuff.
Re: breakcore/noise/other
BAH. I've tried to find it on youtube twice before couldn't find it even though it's.. right there.
Epsilon is srsly one of the best breakcore producers ever. He can get really melodic.. can and mashed up and complex without sarcificing rawness or overal badassness at all. Even when he does speedcore. He's a lot like Abelcain in that regard. So fucking awesome.
And another Bloody Fist classic. -.- Sooo goood.
Baah, there's plenty of dark breakcore.. but most of the stuff from the past decade has been either just brutal or chaotic. That's the main aspect of '90s era breakcore that I really miss.
