Land him on a rocky south pacific island, naked, with a 4 inch blade. The island is populated with several species of highly venomous and aggressive snakes. There are three varieties of territorially aggressive primates. The island has a large cat population. Take your pick. Tiger might be more gnarly. The winged insects carry various tropical viruses, while not deadly, they can be quite debilitating; through excessive vomiting, loss of coordination, and loss of muscle tone. Around the island the waters are full of reef shark, lemon shark, and a few bull shark. Barracuda school in the shallows, and the sea bed is crawling with stone fish.

He could serve his life sentence in a prison or on the island. The island is a gift. His one true chance to experience and make peace with his victim. To know what it is to be weak and insignificant, and to be prayed upon by beasts who've honed their skills of predation for millions of years. I think it is a fair and valuable lesson. It likely would cost him his life, but some lessons in life have a very high value. Only a few actually receive the grace to be able to learn them.

And at that, maybe he will survive the ordeal. Maybe he can make himself so small, so slow, so insignificant, to all but disappear to the eyes, ears and nose of the predators. Survival grade humility, quietness. Oneness. Perhaps he could then feel, and perhaps harness the flow, ride it as a transcendent master and leave us all together.

Lostprophets' Ian Watkins guilty of child sex offences

Ian Watkins, singer of Welsh rock band Lostprophets, has pleaded guilty to a series of "depraved" child sex offences including attempted rape of a baby.

Grim man. Hadn't really read much about this case, proper dark stuff.

Prosecuting barrister Chris Clee QC told the court: "Ian Watkins was the lead singer in a successful band called the Lostprophets.

"He accepts he was a determined and committed paedophile."

Watkins also admitted three counts of sexual assault involving children and six involving taking, making or possessing indecent images of children and one of possessing an extreme pornographic image involving a sex act on an animal.

The evidence against the defendant came from computers, laptops and mobile phones. with some recovered from "cloud" storage.

The court heard that he filmed and kept the episodes of abuse - which took place in various hotels in London and south Wales - that were recovered by police.

Some of the evidence was too extreme and distressing to report.

Gonna be a lot of very disappointed girls in their late teens/early 20's I reckon.
