used to use fox when i was 11 because i was massively into lylatwars. then as i started writing music i realized there already were tons of "fox" so i just added "syr" before it because i was much more into sonic youth and their syr series at the time. then i realized it sounded lame, but i was too bored to find something else, so as i used to be fox, it just went exfox.
as it's still lame i use background for production now as a lot of my friends call me this (it's not offensive btw)
This band released an album called 'Genevieve'. Their black metal songs are theirs, but they also just straight up used someone else's tunes and put another title and artwork on them (Korouva, her music is awesome too). Not just covering her shit, literally her files.
They also lied about EVERYTHING. How long they'd been around, that they played drug fueled shows with self-mutilation on stage, who their members are... they even came up with an instrument (dieselharp) that they claim played those distorted guitar riffs. Then the whole Korouva thing blew up and they came clean admitting that they were full of shit.
So it's not just that their music is awesome, but their whole persona or lack thereof is. And a lot of their fans probably considered them the embodiment of 'real' and 'true' music and just accepted everything they said as true. And I love that a lot of them probably got really upset that the music they thought was 'real' and 'true' turned out to be 'fake' (to them, anyway. The music's still real to me. It's the sound that matters anyway).
Hah, that probably sounded really self-indulgent and pretentious. But that's totally what attracted me to them and that name.
The story behind that is that I was browsing list of dinosaurs on Wikipedia and stumbled across Gryponyx. I was actually searching for a name for my friend, because at that time I called myself Kobra, which I thought of one Saturday morning on the toilet. God bless the toilet.
As a kid I had a massive interest in dinosaurs, I suppose that's why I was on the "List of Dinosaurs"

I can't work out if you're trolling or just massively deluded and hypocritical about your demographic's own cultural 'contributions'.
Just kinda came to me. Figured it was a name not many people hopped on and I liked the sound of the way it rolled off the tongue. Of course that's not to say there was long thread about people telling me to keep it anyway. so I did.
Nevalo - i gave my copy of SKREAM! to my mom..... bitch never gave it back
I just needed a screen name to register and join the Reason community when I first bought the software around the turn of the century. I had also just got a black chihuahua around the same time and names her Ninja, so just wrote Ninjadog thinking I would probably later change it. Poor girl got eaten by coyotes 4 years later and now I keep it as a tribute to my gone but not forgotten friend.
