Re: I don't understand coffee
I meant green tea keeps you hydrated, not dehydrated, my bad.
Does nothing else for you though.

Re: I don't understand coffee
First tried it when I was about 7, loved the taste straight away!
Gone through periods of drinking loads a day. During particularly intense studying I would chain-drink it. As soon as one cup was finished, go make another one. Repeat for several days. This wasn't the best idea in hindsight; ended in severe concentration problems. I just ended up staring out a window at nothing in particular.
Nowadays I'm happy to have 1 - 4 cups a day...with a few cups of tea on the side.

Re: I don't understand coffee
Just had Turkish coffee with a Bosnian student at uni. At first I was like "what, no filter??" but the grounds stay on the bottom she told me. I had no milk or creamer and a little bit of sugar and it was still pretty good. Just reminded me of this thread

I agree with the OP. Smells lovely, tastes rank.

coffee helps in the production of certain neurotransmitters in the brain, like serotonin, dopamine and noradrenaline that boost your mood.
Researchers said the study is unique in that it identifies caffeine as an antidepressant.

Re: I don't understand coffee
I love coffee but I understand what you are saying about bitter...
especially Starbucks - I've had it taste like cigarettes before...
You need to go for a straight Columbian - Jamaican Blue - a good quality "Breakfast Blend"
- stay away form the African and Sumatran - nothing dark/french roasted...
I agree with the chicory suggestion - chicory is super smooth - takes all bitterness away...that's what it does.
I am also a fan of Lavazza - but I've only really had this one...It never tastes burnt

If you mess with those K-cups - surprizingly - Folgers does a super good job - Their Black Silk is my favorite...
and the others - the breakfast, the columbian - I think it's quality.
