delurking to point out that all adam harper's articles read like first year undergrad essays

and I actually think he grossly misunderstands pc music and is pretty detrimental to the whole thing

it's basically the same thing that happened with normcore a while back where everyone equivocated the movement with the thing it's directly opposed to

pc mus is many things but definitely NOT ironic

I'm confused.

Some stuff in this thread sounds like synth pop crossed with triphop/down tempo which is pretty decent and the other stuff is just cheesey pop music?

Is John Maus in this sort of camp? I still don't understand what it is exactly.

some stuff that gets labelled as vaporwave or recommended on bandcamp i listen to and think i could do that myself. all smple stuff with a simple formula getting released on obscure labels out of philly and portland

but i think is vaporwave like modern art. just because i look at a few dots of paint on a blank canvas or listen to a vaporwave track that sounds like it was made in 20mins in garageband and think i could do that...but i didn't do it. someone else did.

sierously how long did that really take to make it doesnt do anything about from loop an 80s sax line and then crank up the delay at the end.
