Maybe I'm just looking harder than I used to, but there seems to be more exciting new music and new producers coming out at the moment than there have been for a couple of years. It's like the counterswing to halfstep has finally got some momentum up and there's a whole spectrum of stuff getting represented again.

I'm actually pretty positive at the moment.

To me, that track is Rusko thinking he can hit the mega big time aswell by writing a tune that sounds like exactly Burial, which is beside the point, its a shitty drum loop with some horrible synths in the background, does the man not understand what sounds cheesy and what doesnt?? its terrible!

I cant be bothered to read this whole thread, but I dont think this is true. I've been listening for about two years and I still keep discovering new sounds. For example hadn't heard any Darkstar till a few weeks ago, same with geiom. Stuff like Distance - Headstrung gets me everytime, killer tune, really nice style and sound. All I can say is just look around some back catologues of a few lables and shops and your sure to find some variety

Always room for growth in dubstep because it's so wide open... solid bass + solid beat + whatever you like - just look a little harder, or wait for a new sound to spring along, cus it will happen.

since i heard this over a year ago i have been checking every record shop for a white label. to me, its far and away the boy's best tune to date.

on topic. if you don't like it, listen to something else. isn't that obvious?

it may be if you are listening to the same type over and over

theres such a diverse spectrum of dubstep, i dont think generic is right..
theres some copycat business, that was always gonna happen, but the people at the top of the game are getting more and more creative so i really dont think so...

:z:

dubsteps sound is so varied atm, the possibilities seem limitless! who cares if someone under the dubstep banner puts out a song or, god forbid, a cd you dont like? how can you expect to like everything in a style of music? im not too into the abrasive mid range type tunes but im glad they exist because they add another facet to our sound and who knows what that particular sound could mutate too in the future? too many heads try to draw lines in the sand seperating us from eachother based on differences in style... i say let it grow, morph and expand and we'll see what happens. if you dont like it, dont support it. if you envision something better, make it! this culture is all about creating your sound from the ground up and starting something in your community, its not about crying on the net

I cant fucking stand it, that one track MG22 I think it is with the plinky plonk cello (or whatever) intro is wicked, although the drop does just get in the way :( And as for the rest of it, its just exactly what im not feeling in dubstep atm, which is a bit annoying cos I swear that albums had a bigger influence on the sound of dubstep in one go than anything ive ever seen! At the dmz 3rd bday I swear a third of the tunes sounded like a variation on diaries of an afro warrior!

But yeah, whatever. I dont like it, so I didnt buy it and dont listen to it! Theres still PLENTY of stuff getting produced/released which blows me away every day, just got to find it!

its well wank.
