very very little dubstep in Sacramento (but im an hour and some change from SF), but me and a friend will be startin low key dubstep nights on Wed. main problem is the owner of the place wants it mainly for "background" music :? but ill take anything i can get, maybe itll stir up some interest and get bigger.

Anyone who cranks out some wax, hit me up for distribution. We do the Lo Dubs gear and we're pressing up some stuff for Starkey's Philly gang. We're plugged straight in to Hyperdub's distributor for UK and do hella business in Japan too.

Harrisburg, PA repesentin'..... I'm the only dj in the state capital spinning the step, but I got support. Have been putting on a few shows here and there. Spinning some at an art walk next month, along with reggae and downtempo numbers.

Regardless... I love the dubstep - have not listened to anything else in the past 3 months

I'd love to hear from any of the US gang into dubstep.

Generally we as American live in a culture devoid of any interest in EDM what-so-ever. I mean I stopped trying YEARS ago to turn heads onto techno, dnb, or even house music. Dubstep is generally so much more abstract than even those musical genres that I don't even bother with it. Not many of my old dnb friends like it and you know what? It doesn't dissapoint me really. I stopped raving years ago and now I only listen to the music. So what if no one else likes my tastes?! There's no club scene here* so fuck it!

On the flip, don't get me wrong I wish genres like this were a little more popular but the reality is that Americans want rock 'n' roll and hip hop and that's about it. "music with words, man" is what I get mostly. I get away with playing a lot of downtempo and trip hop to my non-edm friends because there's a lot of human feeling in that sound, lyrics, real instruments, real drums etc...

*here is Asheville, NC if you wanted to make an argument. I realize that there's an actual club scene in places like ATL, and NYC...
what is this stuff?
