El-B feat. Juiceman "Digital" (eventhough I wasn´t sure what to call it at that time). BRILLIANT TRACK!

vex'd - gunman was probably the badboy that introduced me to the sound, allthough i'd heard that d1 track souljah and some horsepower before finally hearing gunman thru a fat link up was definitely what done it for me.

Yeah, Digital is one of the best Dubstep (or dark UKG) tunes ever. Still so happy I got a 2000F special of it when Juiceman was in Denmark.

Remember the very first BBC 1Xtra mix CD by J Da Flex? http://www.discogs.com/release/514662
Not forgetting the very first Dubstep CD by Hatcha. http://www.discogs.com/release/348885
But the first UKG mix CD that really got my head turning towards the dark and dubby sound was the Masterstepz mix CD for mixmag (year 2000):
http://www.discogs.com/release/80034. As well as the Locked On - Unlocked mix CD (year 2000 - still a favorite!): http://www.discogs.com/release/74201

I alsp have to mention almost everything by Zed Bias (incl. his Nu Design, Henchmen etc), El-B, Menta, Oris Jay and the first Big Apple releases (the Artwork #001 is WICKED!).

Sek's "Deadlights Revised" mix actually got me into dubstep

before that i thought dubstep and grime were one in the same with annoying mc's all over it

big up Sek each and every :!:

"Neighbourhood" and "Here Comes The Lick" are just to much on a two-step tip to wear the dubstep label IMO. But then again I might have been into dubstep longer than I thought :?

Gorgon Sound, Electro Bass and Classic Deluxe by Horsepower.

On a breaky tip, Hello by Jammin. "Its breaks-speed, but with a dnb bassline.... I just don't understand!!"
