This could be an opportunity to push for some sort of compensation. Give them a load of shit, they'll be a (probably quite sizeable) difference between the interest rates, so push for that difference and then some. Terms & Conditions: Only go through with this if you don't bank with HSBC or any of it's group members.
this I will be doing, just another company I've got to mouth off at. tho I bank with Natwest so I will be spending the next week or so reading all the small print.

Colleagues who think they are superior to the people working in the call centre - a fucking hard job.

I always give call centre people respect. A smile down the phone could be the difference between them being nice and me 'accidentally' getting cut off from some sort of utilities supplier.

It's jokes the number of people that assume that, because you work in a call centre, you're an idiot. I used to work in the call centre here, and for every 10 patronising stnuc thqat you'd speak to, you'd speak to one or two polite and understanding people that would restore your faith in humanity. That said, I'm glad to have escaped.

But do you not think that if you treat people with a bit of decency and respect then they'll be a lot more inclined to actually help you?

nope, that is not the issue, they are there to help, they get paid for it, I get paid for it, taking shit down the phone is part of the job. also most the time the person you are speaking to can do fuck all anyway so bein a tnuc is more likly to get me passed over to someone who can do what I want them to.

I've done call centre work, in and out bound, plus call centre management for a while too. It does indeed suck balls, and I swore I'd never be mean to a cold caller again after leaving there
