Big ups to Burial, i also think its a shame he was made to give up his true identity...
Now we all know his name... does it really make any difference? No. The media is pathetic...

It's all about the music so shouldn't matter, i did enjoy the facelessness of it all though.

Respect to him for doing this. I did find it more appealing when the face was unknown, it adds to the tunes.

I don't care about what he looks like I just want to hear more of his music. I've thoroughly worn out everything he has put out thus far. I haven't felt this addicted to something since my Ecstasy phase.

why's everyone on the 'oh well it was fun while it lasted' tip...
nothing changed the music's still there and will keep coming :/
but yeah as others have mentioned, in this day and age where the media is so influential and we're so used to seeing the faces behind the music, it was never gonna last.
ironically, remaining annoymous got him alot more publicty than he anticiopated which would of helped get his name out there even if he wanted the opposite.
personally i 'blame' the birth of music videos for orginially blurring the 'boundries' between the music and the image...nothing wrong with ascoiating a style or feeling part of a scene but its the music thats the glue, not what the people look like or whatever hair cut is in fashion. (obviously not refering to dubstep here but still)
ill stop now cos i sound like some pretencious blog owner or something.

i dont think anyone is acting like that tbh, I just think the whole thing is pretty cool, kind of a modern day myth you know.
If I was Burial id be feeling pretty good right now cos you know the only people truely bothered about him are more bothered about his music than who he is (something that has become more clear since hes announced this)

He should have asked Fatboy Slim, Damon Albarn & RDJ to all go up and collect his Mercury Prize - considering he wins it of course! That would have really fucked things up
I dont think he was bullied into showing his face, its not like he was getting stick for being anonymous.

This whole thing has been a bit depressing really. Most music journalists would have been extremely happy to carry on writing about Burial's music and the few statements he chooses to put out accompanying them, judging them on their merits alone. The Sun have proven themselves to be dim-witted in this instance, but complaining that the Bizarre column is full of stupid mistakes and wrong-headed ideas is a bit like complaining that the sky is too blue.
In publishing that riddle today, the day after Burial outed himself on his myspace site, they've proven that they don't actually give two short fucks about the music (anyone with even a passing interest in dubstep would have seen those clangers in the riddle immediately, and realised that someone is trying to stitch them up). What we can take from this: it's about the ego. The Bizarre team were stamping their feet because they didn't know who this person was; if he had not been anonymous, the stories would have been along the "Miserable electronic music favourite to win Mercury - Coldplay snubbed" lines. As he chose not to reveal himself, it bruised their collective ego, and they made right fools of themselves in the process of their "investigation".
Big up to everyone who sent them misleading info: I guess the riddle came from a forum user. And big up Burial, long may your career continue, and good luck with winning the Mercury cash.

S'all about the tunes mate, big up Burial. Loved the interview with Wire, found it on the internet earlier, better than reading the shite in the Sun.
Looking forward to the nxt release

The riddle could be the key to Burial’s true ID.
Are they so stupid that they didn't even know his name was already out?

Mad respect for this bloke
Must admit I am not a huge fan of the work but I can appreciate the production and the genius behind it.
All the bloke wants to do is write music what he does so well! Its society these days who just wanna drain people of all the cash they can and then throw them away like last nights half eaten kebab.
I hope we don't see Burial on GMTV or Johnathan Ross, I hope he stays this big, I mean It'll be great if he won the mercury price but I kinda hope he don't cause he obviously just wants to write music, if people like it and buy it, its a bonus.
A true musician and a new found respect for the bloke.

seriously, the guy fucking deserves it, he's totally fucked with me this week. this was what he put in the original piece:
He conducted a Bizarre phone interview where he confessed: “Only five people know I make tunes.”
except that was bullshit, he stole it from my guardian interview. so i complained and asked him to correct his flagrant lie and attribute the quote to the guardian. his response was to offer me money (which i refused obvs), and subsequently after i complained again he edited it to this bullshit:
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sh ... 508588.ece
basically he's complete scum.
