that Diesel VIP and I think there was a Lock-off remix/VIP that Skream were both sick, Skreams set was banging, I hadn't heard any Burial at forward before and his tunes definately sound better on that system :o

biggest fwd i've been to since i got here i reckon.

rama - you killed it AGAIN mr, in your usual understated style. what ajantis said - marcus nasty was takin notes!!

missed dusk & blackdown (boooo) but enjoyed skream's set, especially the tyrone refix, and the happy birthday serenade to a very drunken SP.

great night.
i'm takin this show on the road.

Blackdown wrote:Donae'o is a terrible lyricist.

"African warrior/coming with his stick in his hand?" Stick???

"Devil in a blue Dress" is worse.

The first line of the chorus goes:

"She's a devil in a blue Dress"

which he couples with:

"She's a devil in a blue Dress"

Line three comes in with:

"She's a devil in a blue Dress"

which nicely gets topped off, just for good measure, in the fourth line:

"She's a devil in a blue Dress"

Aaargh!
don't forget the next bar

"wab, wab waaab, waaab waaaaah"

skilllllllllll

still not really on this funky thing..

maybe checking it at fwd on a good system will sway me..

This. Haven't ever really been exposed to much funky before, but I really enjoyed it. I like the combination of bass weight with the slightly more latin beats, it seems to work well. It just seems to me that some tracks are still lacking in a little bit of character, but maybe i just need to explore the sound a bit more.

That was such a good night! Probably one of the best nights at FWD this year I reckon! It had everything, deep dark vibes all the way to manic jump up stuff with a bit of Funky thrown in for good measure!

Something felt a bit weird about the sound the whole night, it was turned well up from early on but I could still hear people talking quite clearly. Although having said that it was probably the first one in ages where I've not walked in already deaf from another night.

Really enjoyed chilling to Blackdown & Dusk, was a very good way to start off the night.

Couldn't believe the proper booming bass when Marcus Nasty came on, in-your-face chest pounding madness! Loved it!

Ramadanman's set was absolutely sick, it had soooooo many different vibes throughout! Want to find out what tune he played at about 11.30!

Skream's set was mental! HOW many tunes did he get through???? Bits of it were the usual stuff, but running through them so quickly made a nice change. And then he settled down a little bit later on to mix in a few different ones and it was all good. Had to leave at 12:45 though.

So glad I decided to make my way down for this one!

After hyping myself up for this for the best part of a fortnight I can't f'ing believe I missed this.. Gutter Music VIP, Humber and the divisive Mr. Nasty over that system must have been serious..

That is a sign of a good sound system bro.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

Aha! That might be it, I shall keep an ear out for it! Cheers!

And yeah, the soundsystem was definitely very nice sounding on Sunday.

i think its safe to say that the plastic people system will hammer bass into your chest regardless of genre.

funky is orite, they got sum nice ravey beats but sumtimes i think some of the beats lack a bit of definate rhythm or over do the vocals such that the rhythm is drowned out.

its all house tho at the end of the day.
