This is what happened to DnB,
"my micro scene is better than your micro scene . . . " etc etc
The DJ's are the ones who have a responsibility to keep the scene together, they need to show they are inclusive (as Plastician has done)
not exlusive
sub genres can kill scenes (or splinter them up so they become boring)
I mean "Neurofunk" "Trance& Bass" - come on please!!!!
Thats why Metalheadz was so good in the Blue note days, everyone played all styles and it was interesting, not just "driving in 5th gear"
I hope 'dubstep doesnt go the same way

I was there, I left after coki and loefah. I regularly go into a monologue about why I fucking hate the fabric crowd.neka wrote:Nah, regretably went for Halloween, but I guess it's always the same.nesslei wrote:lol were you there on friday too?neka wrote:"Oh dubstep? Is that the same style mid range wobble bangers that they play at a packed out room 3 at fabric to posh rah heads in rugby shirts at their first 'rave' wearing flourescent face paint and doing too many drugs that they can handle cause its the first time they've listened to music that isn't kaizer chiefs?"
I want to say all that stuff you just said neka.
'omg darling its dubstep, quick get your glow sticks, uv facepaint and your MD (said in an incredibly annoying way) and lets rave it up'
Having said that I think Caspa and Rusko are sick, like I think Kulture and DMZ are sick. Ppl shouldn't take out their anger on the dj for the fact that they attract bent crowds. I would have thought Plastic People would be a good place to see them and enjoy the music.
edit: On the above post, 1 thing that always pissed me of about dnb was the subgenre divides. And then ppl in that scene started to look down on those who like jump up and not deeper stuff. Both ways, some ppl I met at dmz started saying the same stuff to me because I said I like liquid dnb over jump up/tech stuff these days.
I rly don't want the same thing to happen in dubstep, honestly in dnb it is like completly different genres these days.

i think there are nuff heads in the scene that love dubstep for what it is, and i believe that therefore it shouldnt 'turn like drum and bass'...as long as the djs and producers keep doing what they're doing..i am an idealist however, and sometimes the dickhead crowds and generic wobble seomtimes pisses me off and i do start to wonder what is happening/what is going to happen to dubstep!

very true
it was when promoters made a point of seperating these styles so one night was one style that it really started hurting.

I also get the feeling that whilst people are stating their broadmindedness of the scene and the variety, the two terms mentioned throughout this thread has been 'Jump Up' and 'Deep' when there is so much more, Last time i checked it was more then just 2 elements.
And i need to say this...fwd is small, maybe 150-200 peeps tops, even if it was rammed im surprised no1 saw this person making said comment, a friend of anyones perhaps? or you lurkin in this thread
