dubstep is still great but I miss the more dark dubby kind bangers, ofcourse they are still there but I miss the style ala Haunted, ancient memories skreamix.

you got it totally wrong with the djs you hate..they all have to be credited

Caspa and Rusko: Admitted they are churning out rubbish at the mo and caspas album sucked but they fabriclive cd re energised the scene and some of rusko early stuff still has a place in my heart..2naq, mr chips, hammertime, go go gadget and not to mention his essential mix.

Hatcha: RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WHOLE MOVEMENT. First to play it at the fwd nights

Jakes: Geezer and started label HENCH...moving Bristol music scene forward. 3klane, modem, warp 9, ROCK THE BELLS.

Sukh: young and talented..only 19. Got some real deep sub and vibes like the jinglist and zomby spliff

As the genre grows, which it will, you will have to weed through more and more stuff that is not your style to find the stuff that is your style.

Live with it, or jump on a new bandwagon.

caspa & rusko are the ideal dubstep dj's for getting new folks into dubstep. I've played their beats and mixes to mates who dig a lot more dubstep now. and now they put on the C&R stuff to the rest of our mates who are not really into the stuff, and they start digging it as well. and maybe some of them will also go checking out more stuff.

It's lame that a thread of someone bitching a bunch of vacuous shit gets 5 pages, but a ton of threads up there w/great content(ie mixes/tracks/show announcements the bitchy threadstarter could be listening to/attending to find the new music we hope they're searching for) fall to deaf ears...

edit: it should be noted how relatively narrow a spectrum was shown in the threadstarter's list of likes/dislikes(most notably how 100% is European and about 99% of it is UK-based)

:?

sure 2002-2006 was an amazing time for dubstep, but there'll always be new producers worth checking for. it is noticeable that most of the new releases i get excited about either hark back to garage (sully, faltydl), or are heading pretty far outside the standard dubstep remit (zomby, joker etc). i think the simple fact is that the producers that started the sound were, and still are, some of the best, and so there's bound to be a load of newcomers that are never going to match up to mala/benga etc. on the other hand, when there's producers like gemmy, quest, joker, ginz, mala, sully, untold, zomby, dusk&blackdown, faltydl all churning out incredible, vibrant tunes on a monthly basis, you can hardly complain there's nothing interesting left in the scene.

edit: that being said, i will officially declare dubstep is dead if loefah doesn't release something new this year

no one can deny that the majority of the sound has totally changed and for some people the music was "perfect" for them then. Can't u understand the frustration when the music goes a different way than u do and u come disconnected from it??

every minute you spend yappin on an internet forum about how things have gone to shit is a minute you could've spent doing any # of things (record shopping. checkin' mixes. tuning into any of the internet stations. checkin' vids on youtube. etc, etc) to push things forward.

I'm sorry but yr either hungry for this, or you're not.
