your track isn't quite my cup-o-tea, but its for sure put together well, it gives me ideas for some ambient noises. I do like the drums alot. Good work man.

- jimbeaux : not really diggin it , too much random stuff going on for my taste, try to bring some more structure in your tune

- edn : sounding pretty solid, work on your drums though, i can hardly hear em through your sub. melodies are quite nice :)

- zuta : liking the plugged instrument & the sequence in the background, they fit well in the atmosphere you're bringing. from 1.24 it went kinda downwards for me , i just liked the vibe you had before more than that one.

-nicorisone : nice ambient stuff, it just needs some more filling for me. i know ur going for the ambient feel, but i just feel you could do more to the whole than just what you got right now

i'm on a new wip, would love to hear what you folks think :)

@Reignz nice man, not really much i can comment on... maybe add some more syncopation in some areas to vary the beat a little bit?

@Rainbo I like your track but I think your drums need to come up in the mix and also made a bit punchier, they are getting lost a bit for me and are quite middle-ish

@EDN there's some nice stereo business going on in your synth lines which makes it very interesting to listen to... however if you're after criticism i'd say the mix is all very 'full' at the moment. I know it's a dubby track but it would be nice to have a little more space in the frequencies and also in the mastering. Let the drums sit a bit more on top!

Anyways here's a 2-steppy thing from me, would love some comments :)

@reignz: Fairly solid but I have to disagree with everyone here on the break, I don't think it fits at all :P

@ adamc - Intro was a bit boring for me, the lead seems to loud or something, everything else at the start seems really ambient and soft. Once the drums drop it makes sense, cool beat, nice cuts and vocal samples sound good. Not really a style im into to be honest but the production sounds great.

@ Reign - Intro is awesome, great sample choice and big energy. Hats are sounding real nice too. The break i'm on the fence with, it fits and sounds cool but lacks the same energy and 'mean-ness' of the rest of the track at the moment. Bass sounds nasty as usual. Definately a wicked track in the making. Looking foward to hearing it when it's done.

@ Jimbeaux - Cool track. I like the style. Very gritty and strange. I thought the bass was a bit loud, and the kick was a bit soft. Haven't heard of a 'metroid track' before but i'm diggin this.

Sorry if i missed anyone, was trying not to comment on signatures by mistake.

I'm dropping in a short clip today. Something i started between finishing other tracks (story of my life). feed bach. Appreciated.

@ Reignz: Badman wobblz!! Love the little white noise twist on the snare too.
Bass is imo a bit too loud compared to the drums. Snare gets a bit lost in the bass.
Break works for me. Vocals are pretty cool too. Overall very promising track mate. Finish it!

@ adamc: Fuck the rim in the intro is sooo sexy. But imo you should rework the bell/organ melody in the intro.
I don't think it's interesting enough to carry on for that long. Drums are smooth man. I'm not sure about the vocal
tbh, makes me a bit uncomfortable. Overall decent start, work on some more variation in the melodies and
make it a great tune!

@ EDN: Big, big intro. I'm not really feeling where it's going though. The track sounds like one big
intro to me. Maybe integrate some more "tension builders"(kick rush, sweeps, etc) to guide the listener
through the track. Has potential.

@ Olux: track not showing yet, i'll comment later.

This is my wip, still pretty rough, would love some feedback.

adamc - loved it (don't really have a problem with the intro) but, I didn't think that vocal mixed well

jimbeaux - not really my thing, but i'd cut the high frequencies a little bit

reignz - like the reverse cymbal, also, the breaks seem like a good idea, but they sound a little off

here's mine, I know this isn't hip hop forum, but I need some help with this, especially some ideas about a possible bassline

@JayZest:Track is coming along nicely. Excited to see how the rest turns out. Maybe change it up a little or add a small little drop in there...but very nice work so far.

@Traffik:Drop the levels on the snares a little. Pretty ear piercing. Good start though. Has a nice little reggae sound to it.

@Olux:Dude i wouldnt change anything...like this A TON mate...good production fo sho...

@adamc:ALWAY a fan of the 2-step, but needs to be leveled out a little. A little harsh and some slight static(unless thats the sound you were shooting for), but i love it though. Made me think of my rave days, which were some of the best times i've ever had.

@reign:like the new WIP. LOVE the starksy and hutch samples...i was cracking up when i heard that the first. I would have to agree with some others on this, but i'm not digging the breakbeat where it is, but i think its good in the track, i know its a WIP, and you never fail to bring some heaters. But i would throw the breakbeat part on another part...but KEEP IT!

@jimbeaux:who is that chick singing on the metroid track? was that your doing on the beat? I actually liked it a lot.

@EDN:I love the nice bass line, but i can barely hear the snare, maybe bring the snare up or layer some more. But love that "dubby" style you were going for. You got it, Just need to have the highs made a little more clear.

@Zuta:I liked your track all around. Not really much to say other than good work.

To be honest, I don't really have a new WIP, except a little snippet from my latest track trying to go with a hip-hop vibe on it so far and a preview of my new collabo with Bender One:The Tokyo Boyz
But check out a little snippet of the new track and be sure and check out my older tracks below.

@thebreadman - not sure you heard the right track, I changed my name on soundcloud and it had put another song on my links a little further back, but its working now if you wanna take a listen. Your tunes have a very strange vibe I must say, but they're decent for sure. One idea sparks another!! :R:

alright here's my feedback! don't be offended or anything, and if i say something that sounds kinda lousy, just stick with me, i promise i'll try to make as much sense as possible haha.

@ olux: Nice work man! i really think this would sound good on a dance floor! put me in line for a 320, if u finish this before oct 23rd i might be able to drop it at an event :)

@ reignz: really dope! i like the synth work. i like how u bring in new sounds through the track, very smooth. i wanna hear some different notes on the next bars, go up and down the scale ur using and see how that fits! u can take ur track lots of places from here and it'll sounds great! the break works, but i think u can make it sound much smoother.

@adamc: i'll be honest, i don't listen to 2step that much, but i'm diggin this track. i like the claps, they sound good, and i think the voice samples fit real nice.

@rayman612: good work! i'd say for the bassline, start off by matching the notes of the orchestra on the drum kicks.. from there, play around and add more notes in different places, like just before a kick to give it a more upbeat/bouncy feel to the track. a quick example i can give u (and there are tonssss) would be this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPDLoyNzqKU whether u like the track or not, note how the bassline goes on the kicks, but off kick too... just play around with it, as long as u have the notes u can have a lot of fun and it'll be noticed in the track for sure!

@TheBreadMan: I'm liking the drums! maybe it's just me though, but i think one of your notes in the intro might be off key... i dunno, it's kinda late and i've been making beats all night so my ears are doneski, but give that a quick check when u work on it next time. other than that, i'm digging it, it's a little different and i'd like to hear it with someone rapping over it, i'm interested in the final result.

here's one of mine:

cheers

@Reignz; Cool track, it seems like you've got a double intro going on there? I like it. A few vatiations in the drums wouldn't go amiss. ;)

@Rainbo; Put your drums through some distortion [except the kick, compress that] and eq the whole lot so that they sit a little nicer in the mix. :D

@EDN; Create some sort of space in the track, it's a bit of a mouthfull at the moment. How you do that, I'm not sure without looking at it on a screen but I'm sure you'll find away. Great overall though!

I've re-fitted the sub and now need some feedback on what needs to be done with this track:

made some progress today on my remix, hopefully i can finish this thing before the deadline :)

amphibian wrote:@NG_GAMMA: liking the deep vibe of the introduction, that kick is powerful! The snare needs some beefing up, probably with some more high-end. I'd probably change the lead synth a bit for the second 8 bars though to give it some variation.
hutyluty wrote:
@NC Gamma- Intro goes on a bit and the drop is a little lacking, really like the drums but the wobble seems a bit quiet, too many frequencies cut out, sounds very sparse. Reall like the synth at 1:52 that come in, really nice and detuned, much better than the wobble (in my opinion as a wobble hater :D) The drums really make the piece, theyre great though, keep it going could be a big tune with some more work on.

This sounded really good to me at about 3AM last night but now I'm not so sure

Soundcloud

cheers! im trying to make my tunes deeper but ive only been producing for a few months its pretty difficult to do. i think the more skills i learn the more options i have and i can make deeper tunes! any hints or tips?

and can i have the detuned synth playing at the same time as the wobble aswell or does that just make it sound messy?

im going to try adn make the drop better and also add some more elements when i get home from work, i will also return the feedback then!

@Amphibian: I like the beginning. You got some really nice chill sounds. I think it could really use either some variation in the bass sound or just some more elements entirely. It gets a bit boring after the initial drop and breakdown.

@Nicorisone: Like the idea, definitely has some nice sounds. It needs a lot more though. I'll hold back on any real criticism until I hear more of it as it is a WIP. As far as what you have, it works. The mix sounds pretty good. Nothing really seems to low or too high. I like the use of odd percussion sounds. The intro is a tad long without anything else actually happening. I would try to create a bit of interaction between what you have in the drop somehow. Pan in some highpassed percussions or something.

@Zuta: I liked what I heard so far. It's different.

@EDN: I like the intro. The melody is nice and works with the bass. One suggestion I have is breaking up your bass a little bit. It sounds good but, give your listeners a chance to breathe. A bass like that is gonna hit a sub really hard, and in turn it's going to hit the chest really hard. I think there is such a thing as too much bass sometimes.

@Tripwire: Love it, as usual. The Sub is definitely big. Love how everything sort of comes together on the drop. I love the kick, please don't change it.

@Kaiori: Love the track. Very chill. I wouldn't go rap to be honest. Actually, I think it would sound great with some glitchy soft harmonious singing. Maybe more of an R&B type style of vocals but glitch up a bit so they kinda float and jump around.

@Reignz: I don't really have much to say really. I loved the entire clip you posted. I hope the full version has some more parts where it's just mainly the sub wobbin around. I thought the sub was pretty sick when it was used by itself.

I haven't actually done anything in quite some time. Just sort of been having a bit of a block. Awhile back I started working on this track and after a lot of time and work, I lost the project file due to hard drive failure. A few days ago, for whatever reason, I had the urge to completely remake it....sorta. I was able to get some of the main parts of the original that I actually wanted, as well as some of the concepts. This is pretty much where I'm at now. I still need to work on the beat quite a bit. Need to add some more automation and effects and what not. I'm not gonna be able to work on this much the next few days so I figured I'd post it up.

Interested to see what people are posting here and just wrote up a detailed feedback list but my browser asked me to log back in so lost my post..... :(

So just quickly:
@DannyDubstep
I like the breakbeat in the middle that comes in the middle.
I think the track needs more 'depth' - some incidental reverbs and fx. Feels a bit empty. Maybe more washy synth action behind what you've got already.
I think another musical element would help add interest to the track.
Drums and bass are done pretty well - sounds chunky.

@Wabble - drumstep is cool. I like your sound design but the drums and bass sound lost and distant. Maybe too much reverb? They need to be more present in the mix.

@Olux
I like. Switch up on the drop every few bars is funky and makes me bounce.
Main synths sound good.
I think track could become a banger when more musical elements / samples are added to give the listener somethign more to latch onto - porbabl ysomething you're aware of being a WIP and all.
Maybe some glitchy kinda business would go well when dropping in and out of the drumbeat change.
Good start to the track mate.

My most recent soundcloud posting, haven;t been getting much constructive feedback from people so hopefully some of you guys could help a brother out :) :
