a bit, tnght seems like a nice blend of dirty south with a pinch of edm
i'm really digging the trance shit like ur life by flosstradamus, i mean shit like this has been done to death before, but refreshing to see it get an audience in the edm circle and not just hip hop

never seen him live
heh i might catch riff raff and lil debbie live soon
also i think hopsin is coming through roc as well

when has beatport been anywhere near decent with genres and subgenre categorization?

It seems to be what everyone is transitioning to. But it doesn't belong in dubstep sets. It's essentially hip hop with no rapping. Definitely not dubstep. Kind of gets annoying just like the whole "brostep" ruining your scene, now it's "trap", and this is destroying the originality and beauty of what dubstep really is. It's not like trap is a new level or progression of dubstep. It's just hip hop beats...it's sad. :i:

now you know why the dnb scene took issue when dubstep became compared to it and started being on the same bill like they were the same thing or evolution of each other

True. But the least they can do is put trap under hip hop. It has absolutely nothing to do with dubstep. I mean, i understand why the subgenre of "brostep" is under dubstep, but trap makes absolutely no sense. It's all a marketing scheme and it's terrible how many people fall for this new trend of terribly made rap instrumental. those damn horns need to end.

Honestly, I only turned my head to electronic music about a year ago and I dove into it strong, but I never for a second would lump dnb and dubstep into the same boat and say it is the same. I mean yeah, sometimes diff genres borrow certain elements, but I'm never gonna call a turkey a chicken.

haha general midi and soundfont horns are great
then again i never knew anyone who bought hip hop on beatport, so that could be part of the reason
pulled out my old southern shit before this whole trap term (for a genre) and still love it just as much

Ignorance if nothing else! Though in the past few weeks at festivals etc Ive walked past Flux pavilon, Skrillex and Zane Lowe playing Bauuer, Flostradamus and TNGHT :|
Most recent was the skrillex playing Roll up and everybody looked confused and I swear down I heard someone shout "wheres the drop"

Did get to hear Higher Ground and Roll up on a proper system at Carnival and yeah :o
