Must not listen to it and wait for the vinyl version. Big ups Blackdown for pushing the sound.

Love waiting for the vinyl to arrive to listen to an album from start to finish.. Got no P til after xmas though so can't afford it :(

Just finished my first listen all the way through, really enjoyed it.. The Keysound albums are always impressive as albums and aren't just a collection of singles.. like Terror Danjahs lol, which is surprising cause Hyperdub are usually on point with their albums.. but that was just a collection of singles. Just shows its difficult to get right but the guys on Keysound and a handful of other labels seem to get it right every time.

Bigups

Couldn't agree more. Coming from a musical background where albums were the primary way artists presented their work, I was always really dissapointed listening to "bass music" albums where all the tunes had that kinda "incomplete" nature or emptiness. I always supposed that this kinda music is meant for the DJ, at bottom, and so it's incompleteness is there for other records to fill in via the mix.

"Albums" with this nature never felt close to a complete experience though. They sound like single-artist compilations largely and it has to be said there's always a hell of a lot of filler on albums like that (not naming any names...) But the Keysound albums have always actually sounded like the real deal.

I am gonna wait to hear the Logos one though, don't really fancy a stream!

undeniable definitely felt like an album. dark crawler was a bit all over the place. still a good album though .
read an interview with him saying that's what he wanted to do, showcase different sides (be it grime, "rng", dnb whatever). then again, i don't really see a problem with a collection of singles if it's good. no point in making a "proper" album with some grand unifying theme just for the sake of it imo

Yeah not saying they're bad.. I've got Dark Crawler on vinyl.. but its not the type of thing I'd expect from a traditional album.. its certainly more like a collection of singles, especially as theres like 4/5 songs with the same instrumental

Like it definitely feels like Terror made Dark Crawler (the instrumental) got a few decent vocals back, had a couple other songs lying around and went 'this could be an album' and just shoved it all together.. unlike the Logos/Emma albums which definitely feels like they had the idea of an album before making most, if not all, of the tracks. Not saying Terror did do that, just saying thats how it comes across to me... like a lot of albums in 'bass music'.

Jokers album would be another good example of a collection of singles just thrown together.

Me either I often like compilations better than albums lol.. but equally theres no point in shoving an intro/outro/some fillers and releasing an album for the sake of it, just release a series of EPs/singles instead. Its often a big disappointment when an album is just a mish mash of singles, again Joker is a good example of this.

tbh i wouldn't mind a whole album of just dark crawler versions  considering my favourite one (w/ hyper) didn't even make the album

think this is the interview i mentioned http://www.sonicrouter.com/2012/08/terr ... ober-2012/

Haha live for 2 years, is that how much they get off LPs?! Wasn't really a dig at Terror Danjah, I was just using him as an example of an album which seems more like a collection of singles than an album.. Majority of 'bass albums' are, just seems like some producers find it hard to get out of that 'making tunes for a DJ/DJing purposes' mindset when constructing an album, but hey who am I to say an album shouldn't be completely DJ material!

.. saying that if its out on 1 12" it isn't ideal for DJing to begin with lol.
