Di Maria was being linked with a £25m move last summer, desperate from Utd but they have no choice

It's a shame that DiMaria who's become a really great central midfielder will be forced out into a sort of wingback position. He's very similar to Giggs actually, I just think his stature confuses people and means they expect a lot of assists and goals when his strength is in running with the ball.

Ornstein has now said Arsenal are unlikely to sign a striker, 3 months of Sanogo coming up...

Even if Sanogo turns into some sort of Lukaku mk II and starts banging them in, we don't sign anyone and ANY of the potential CF's we've got get a knock and we're even more crocked

Literally don't understand how can we can be even considering this lack of depth.

i think arsenal has enough offensive midfielders to continue with campbell as a 9 until giroud comes back

I actually wouldn't be surprised, Wenger likes playing players out of position.

Not sure it was really his fault though, the rest of the team couldn't even pass 3 yards in that game. He needs balls played in behind to run on to

Zigic's agent is claiming we've offered him a 12 month contract. Has to be a joke surely?

Walcott scored a hattrick the last time he got his way and played on top (i think)

Still he's meant to play on the right,or compete with Sanchez and even Øzil who seems too lazy to play the central offensive role tbh.
So there's not actually a new line up eventhough they've spent like a billion on both these two dudes.
I'm still of the opinion that both Øzil and Sanchez are buy on sight so it's fine with me, but it shows that Wenger once again doesn't have a clue about what the optimum line up is. The only thing that seems certain is that he believes Giroud is good enough to compete with people like Suarez, Van Persi and Aguero which is at best super optimistic and not relevant any more.
I can't believe how Cazorlas form has plummeted like it has and if it's because of the introduction of Øzil and Rosicky still looming around, then it's an argument for the very same thing again.

Podolski simply needs to leave he is only in the way.

Well, we're always going to win the league without Rangers, there's no doubt there, but without Champions League it's going to be a very boring season (albeit we may get an alright run in the Europa League, but it's nothing like the Champs League, especially the money).

Biggest issue is the board atm (specifically Peter Lawwell) wants to make money/spend next to nothing and somehow still perform in the Champions League. It was evident we weren't good enough last season after we scraped by in qualifying and only got 3 points in the groups. Just quite a long way to fall in a short space of time after getting into the last 16 (with arguably the toughest group) only 2 seasons ago :(

Now it's becoming even more difficult to attract players, often players will not sign for the club until we qualify for the Champions League, can very much see Scottish football going the way of the Welsh & Irish leagues.

CL is so shit in so many ways

I want them to put more emphasis on euro league and get rid of all the teams that didn't win their own tournament. CL is so much like a super league now.

That would be rubbish. You'd be replacing teams like Arsenal, Liverpool, Schalke, Roma with even more dross like Maribor and Bate Borisov...

yeah :( that is the superficial, kneejerk response against it.
But the truth is that the uefa cup used to mean something. Now it's like every national tournament is sacrifised on account of just making top two, top three or top five - CL.

We've seen in every tournament ever held that it doesn't get boring and that teams that have a plan can shake their dicks at money if they get the chance.

Last time it was Costarica that rightfully deserved to get to a quarter final and much more so than the larger income teams like spain or italy.

The culture around big name players getting to transfer away from teams because they believe they deserve CL despite not qualifiying with their own teams. Is also down to this principle.

It's atrocious, elitist and shit. Not to mention somewhat racist. Both the french fa and the german fa don't believe they should have to qualify for europe, which ofcourse isn't directly related but is the same kind of nonsence.. that kind of elitism breeds.
