Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@infestedpasta yeah the new track is better but that kick needs to stand out more it sounds to low.
@Mawsta it has a nice glitchy feel throughout the song I love that synth around 0.42
@Debaser Im not liking the resonance on the wub bass
@oprs nice groove and huge sounding bass
Unfinished track would love some feedback on it. Worked on it for a couple of days. I just recently started trying to make dubstep,I normally make House or Hard-Trance.

@infested pasta: i've listened to both versions and to me the drums are still too quiet. the bass sounds alot better though mate keep at it
@BevOh: that vocal work is really nice mate, basslines not to my taste but thats just personal preference.
@weedcali: that vocal is haunting mate and the chilled out vibe is propa nice! actually really like when it switches up as well, pleasantly suprised by that one
My work in progress: only spent a bit of time on it and i'm sort of happy with the direction I'm aiming for and that just thought I'd throw it on here and see if anyones got any pointers or can notice something I've missed. Cheers. oh and dont watch the intro its just there as a reminder for me lol

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
streetlegal: The chinese plucked instrument sounds too ambiguous if ya know what I mean. The melody doesn't really have direction. Either fix it up or just cut it, cause it doesn't really fit too well. The vocals and percussion sound good, tho. The bass could use some work, its too straight forward. Good base to work with, I like the direction, too and with some proper additions to the song it'll sound dope.
DETUN3R: I like the intro but the drop comes out of nowhere. It has a different feel than the intro, not sure if its a key change or something. The drums are kind of plain, but they fit. I'd consider adding some more interesting percussion. My favorite part is 1:38, beautiful sounds
. The second drop flows much smoother, too. You're close, just work on it some more and it'll be perfect.
Mawsta: Woooah, its way too in your face right of the bat. Give it some space to build up. If it were me I'd use a low pass and cut the high/band pass and slowly bring them in, so it builds up instead of just starting that way. Focus more on the idea from :42 to 1:13, too, I really like that part.
Debaser: awwwwwww SHIT ******, a mix of hip hop and dubstep beats
Something feels off about the double kick before the vocals leading into the drop. That being said, the subbass wobble is sweeet and I like where this is headed!
EDIT: lol they editted what I really said (I'm sure you can guess what it was) into "Successful black man
"
Did some more work on my wip. Added an intro and added some variety to the first part of the song. Also tried to bring up the drums a little like you guys said:

oprs, can't believe nobody has commented on that your track. that is fucking professional my friend. really good work. bravo. one of the best ive heard.
z6z, that is some serious bass! I like it alot, really mellow vibe. maybe turn the bass down just a tad though. other than that, track is dope
debaser, liking the hip hop sound you got going on. loving that reverb on the snare, made me smile

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
Crow Steppa - the asian sounding intro is dope yo, followed by melty synth noise... then the drop. lol. very powerful. the way the notes drift sound out of scale to me, but that may be intentional. people on drugs appreciate it when songs are deliberately arranged to create psychotic tension that snaps into a beautiful clusterfuk... but im sure you know that. keep it up man. i'd call it drugstep.
z6z - EEEE!! exhale-the-signals-clip is evil man. straight up evil!! the intro is very tense. the drop snaps it into a dark drippy cellar area, the whispers are def creepy as shit, an the growling crackles hidden in there are sweet. there are so many nice sounds going on in here man. i freakn love it. you an debaser1 are killn it! keep up the sound man.
Debaser1 - !!! shit man, the best one i've heard on this page so far! intro is epic like it should be, builds perfectly, hats an snare velocities are tweaked just right. the drop is insane dude, so simple yet so sick. the wobs are very organic sounding they're fucking nice yo. that falling sweep noise in the background is killer. the 8 bit sounding blips bounce perfectly with the rhythm as well. kick sits perfectly with the sub. all i can say is very good tune man, very good indeed.
Declando - your tune is def good. all i can say is that the ladies should eat it up yo. everything sounds great, an i really like the piano outro. but try to leave feedback for the other lads in here. eveyone wants to be heard man, but ya gotta follow the rules.
FluidMoShun - this song is so different dude, i've never really heard anything quite like this. it has alot of energy for sure. so many elements in there, i can't say i don't like it lol. the melody is the best part though, tons of movement.
street_legal - haha, this tune is full of energy yo. the plucking sounds in the beginning were kind of confusing at first but after hearing twice i think it fits well, the drums are good to they sound like a natural kit! the sample is kind of hard to understand but it sounds good, the only thing i could say is to make the dry less on the reverb to make it sound further away maybe. keep up the work!!
oprs - shock therapy has a very powerful intro man. im totally dign the drop as well, the hand drums are very nice. bass is smooth an clear. mixdown is spot on man. a very dark spacey vibe, more dub than step. love it man.
DETUN3R - nice snare yo. nice drop as well, didn't expect that to happen. the tune sounds good man i can't really say that anything needs improvement. it could use some kind of sample but im sure you know that. keep up the work man.
well here's my work in non-progress... still tryn to capture different elements in my tunes. they all sound different. what do you guys think?

@z6z - im not into deep shit that much but this song is awesome i really like
@crow steppa - imo add some more basslines for variations and maybe make your bass a few more keys up but thats me but i actually like the approach on the intro
@jimbeaux - i like the song, very nice just dont like the yoi but again my opinion your song
but the other basslines are pretty sick like them a lot.
now for my song i took the approach of making a neuofunk song but instead its dubstep so reese driven dubstep, neurostep? lol

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@ Manyyyyy Nice bass man, only thing i didnt like is the strange amount of reverb coming from somewhere. Nice track tho.
@Jimbeaux Didnt think i was going to like your track at the start mainly because of the prominence of the vowel sounds with the combi filter/formant on it, But it kinda broke into it, great combination of sounds, they mesh well together to kinda make a trippy kinda feel. Tripstep? ha. The drums and combo of sounds give a nice rythym man. Keep that shit up.. cant really criticise anything tbh.
@Crow steppa Nice intro. Bass in the drop seems kinda out of key? But if that what you are going for ai guess stick with that. Also something sounds kinda restricted or muffled? Try messing around with the eq on the bass and lowering the reverb a tiny bit?
I posted this track earlier with no feedback because i didnt have time but yeah ive got time to do it now so thought id repost.

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
urbanner- class at like 11? shennanigans, i like the intro, the back synth comes off wierd at somepoints, dancey toon though had my head bobbin the 2nd synth is killer. class pleasure delayer (ten points for anyone who knows the movie thats from) leading back to the beat, but i think the synth is a tad loud at some points and over powers. all in all good shit, couple things need tweaking but this is wips
bevoh- the wobbles from the get go is boring, the beat is pushed way too far and way repetitive, the vox get on your nerves after a while. keep trying though. not trying to be a douche, ive been glad when people told me things of such nature it made me grow faster.
mannnnnnnnnnnny - i dont know, im teetering on the edge with this one, i like it but at the same time it just doesn't seem like it flows. maybe its the double snares- not really a fan of that. but it has potential keep it up for sure.
jim- i mean i could dig it a lil more with out all the yoi's just not really a fan, the beat works for sure. i just think it would be alot better with another synth popping right there mate.
crowsteppa- i like the intro, but you need to get some quality samples bro it would help out alot, the sound you got going after the intro sounds a little off to me and the wobble are over powering everything else. beat needs some breathing room because it gets a little repitive. but keep at it, see alot of potential
z6z- intro atmosphere makes me "insert filthy youtube comment" i love it. holy fuck, let me cop the 320 when its all done man, thats fucking quality right there. sparse, hits hard, in the right ways, got such a old head feel too it. mate quality truely.
ole debaser eh- everything so far ive seen you post has been quality so i dont expect much different from this, intro's tight. not to much not to little for sure. lil kick build is not too strong thank god. vox samples even crush. your gonna have to slip me a 320 on the side man. the use of sounds is so damn good, totally a sitting back drinking diggin the bass song for sure.
some bullshit way out of my norm, thats not even dubstep

BevOh - thanks for the feedback i appreciate your time, i'd have to agree with the yoi bass as well... not really even sure why i use that sound anymore... everyone hates it.
oprs - thanks yet again, for reminding me how bad yoi bass sucks. I'll be sure to never use that sound again.
people consume an digest music so quickly these days, it's no surprise that everyones so critical an competitive.

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
Hey guys! Is it ok that this is my first post? Anyway delete it if you want to..
@DETUN3R: It's funny because when i started litening to your track i was thinking it sounded like trance and then i read that you normally make trance so it makes sense heh. I think it works though, i like your sounds a lot (god i say that too much) and the whole vibe is very evocative and it reminds me of the kind of trance i use to like 15 years ago. Has that kind of 80s vibe that some early trance had. Do you know the artist "Tranceparents"? Like other people have pointed out, i think the intro could use a little work, like where the drums come in, but you probably know that already. Anyway i like what you've done good job.
@FluidMoShun: I can't really describe it but i think its cool as shit heh. It's very unusual, like experimental funk. I love all the sounds you use, and im a sucker for old school video game sounding stuff. Actually it looks like i added a comment to your track last night and forgot, heh.. Well i live in amsterdam i don't have to tell you how it is lol.. Anyway, if there's one thing which for me doesn't live up to the standard of the rest of the track its the drum sounds you are using. Not the drum programming mind you, i think you did a great job with that, i mean the actual samples. They sound a little weak. Do you have a compressor on the drums? If not you should try one (sorry if you know about this, not trying to be patronizing just helpful.) Anyway for what my opinion is worth i think you are doing some good stuff.
@urbannerd62: I like this track a lot, to me it has a classy cutting edge feel to it, which i'm guessing is what you were going for. The production and drum programming is very slick and i like your choice of sounds. I like the spacey ambiance from the heavy reverb/delay stuff. The main synth riff and sound has a really old school (an over-used description, i know) feel to me which i like a lot, sort of nostalgic for me. I also like the improvised synth lead part towards the end, people don't do that enough. Hits the spot for me.
Ok here is my WIP:
Soundcloud
I'd say i'm about 95% done with it. The change i will be making from here are mostly to the arrangement rather than the sounds and stuff. Though i think i would like to add a few more sort of "one-off" sounds here and there.
The main reason i want to work on the arrangement some more is that its almost 10 minutes long and that's obviously a bit over the top lol.. i never meant for it to be so long, but i've always had that problem with my music. Not to sound like a pretentious ass but I think it's because i'm sort of influenced by classical music. Not in the sound but more so in the structure, like i tend to think of a piece of music as sort of a narrative and i think my compositions tend to reflect that a lot. I don't even really do it consciously thats just how it comes out.
The mixing needs some work and the mastering for this version was just done fast. I think it came out sounding distorted in some parts.
One big thing i'm not sure about and might change is the bass part in the middle where it kinda switches for a minute.. If you know what i mean. Also the lead synth part that comes in at the end i have a few doubts about. Either way that part could be cut down a lot shorter.
Also i wanna mess around some more with the breaks between sections (if you know what i mean) and make them a little more interesting.
Anyway let me know what you guys think, like/dislike etc.. Tips, opinions and advice are always good too!
OK that's enough hot air from me for one day. Sorry for the long post.. Take it easy!
