I'm not expecting anyone to keep a sense of perspective, he's not a player that's going to elicit that kind of response much from fans of other clubs, but he'd done it twice and Arsene Wenger manager of that great but most sanctimonious of clubs Arsenal tried to buy him, during the suspension for the second offence.
Liverpool bought him during his suspension for the first and Barcelona have made it clear they are still interested now.
Yeah but Arsene Wenger being the cheapskate that he his club are tried to get him on the cheap because of the bite on Ivanovic. £40,000,001 lol
He'll most probably will not be a Liverpool player come August.
The 40m+1 was specifically designed to trigger a release clause believed to be at 40m. The club refused on the basis it only required them to consider it, they considered and rejected it lol. Shit clause for Suarez tbf and it's part of the new package he got in December.
I wouldn't be surprised if all parties found a mutually acceptable deal. I reckon we keep him if this doesn't happen mind.

As you would be if you rugby tackled them or punched them with boxing gloves on. The sports field is not the same as 'real life' or most workplaces... these analogies people always make are so fucking dense.
Suarez isn't mentally ill, he's a cheat with a short fuse and should be punished as one.
The ban seems fair I guess, if people want to employ him that's on them, but I wouldn't choose to and I hope Arsenal never do. Suarez's reputation will limit his future opportunities, I've no doubt... he'd got a red flag by his name already and it just got a lot brighter.

It's ugly, no doubt, but is it really worse than a two-footer that snaps a leg?
Seems like people have let their passion against Suarez boil over and turned him into a demon. Don't get me wrong, I'm fucking LOVING him showing himself up, but I don't think what he's done is worse than Rijkaard spitting or Zidane headbutting and certainly not worse than Martin Taylor on Eduardo which nigh-on ended a career and resulted in a three game ban.

I suppose it isn't worse than breaking someones leg but if that could be shown to be intentional i would suggest a lifetime ban there too. It's also the fact he's done it 3 times, i mean if you did 3 two footed leg breaker tackles you would probably get a lifetime ban.
I didn't really have an opinion on suarez either way before he bit the first guy.
I think most people learnt to dislike Suarez as a combination of the bite, the racism and the handball against Ghana. It's not really up for discussion that he's one of the most odious little pricks ever to wear a football shirt, but let's face it, he's got a fair bit of stiff competition. Thierry Henry has a comparable handball yet is loved. John Terry survives every outing as a racist. Everyone's forgiven Zidane's headbutt, Cantona flykicking a fan and Klinsmann diving in 1990. Shocking stuff happens all the time in sport. It wasn't so long ago rugby players were biting blood capsules!
Suarez is his own worst enemy. He's got a limited time to be a highly paid footballer and he keeps finding ways to shorten it... doesn't strike me as a manager either, so when he's out, he's probably out. No need to grind him into the dirt, he's doing it all for himself.

I think so, when does biting come into the sport? A 2 footed tackle is excessive but part of the game, its part of a tackle, an illegal one but you get it all the time. I guess if you purposely go in with 2 high feet with no intention of tackling but to just do damage then yeah it'd be the same.. but a standard 2 footer going for the ball that happens to get break a leg isn't the same. Same with boxing or a rugby tackle, its part of the sport. Its closer to eye gouging than a 2 footed tackle imo.
I reckon they should make him wear a gum shield because its a repeated offense... just say you can't be trusted without it so we're gunna treat you like a kid and make you wear it for each game. You could justify it on the grounds of "safety" and claim his past history means hes a hazard to other players.. but really its just to make an example out of him and make him look like a twat for the rest of his career.
