Just a random thought:

I have an akai MPK with knobs that turn 0-127. I want to manually record my whitenoise FX by fiddling with LP and HP filters using the knobs I link to those parameters.
Is there anyway to record that automation into an automation clip rather than that nasty Edit Event's thing that gets linked to the entire pattern that is so stressful to use?

"Convert from Event Data - All recorded automation is saved as Event Data. Convert Event Data to an Automation Clip from the 'Edit > Turn into automation clip' command in the Event Editor menu."

sorry to bring up an old thread, got a bit of a n00b question

say you're layering a few samples to make one hench snare/kick/clap etc - is there a way to combine the samples together internally in FL so i'm just using that one sick sample, rather than having to use several to get the sound i want? or do i have to render the track and sample from there?

Record it into Edison and drag the sample back into the project :)

Or if you have them all out as audio in the playlist/arrange page, you can stack them on top of each other, select them all and hit shift G. That will group them, they'll move and copy together. If later you want to get back into them, select the instance of the grouped sound and hit alt g, this will ungroup them and now you can edit them. If you really are set, record them to edison, chop, and bring back, as was mentioned.

And this thread was designed for bumping, as a centralized repository of fl knowledge, so bump away.

Random tip - hold down ALT in the arrange page and you can move samples manually without having to snap the grid on/off.

When working with automation, hold down shift to slide a point at the same height, but to a new location.

Here is a real protip = ctrl shft and alt and all combinations of those, and with left click, right click, and center click and scroll all do different shit, under different circumstances. It is pretty genius. Just start trying different combinations.

Mousewheel up/down works too if your mouse is over the top of a clip. (the bold coloured bit).

Yo guys! What does everyone here use for vocals? I've been listening to alot of Mercy, and his vocals sound. not sure how to put this, but different. I've messed around with vocal samples but not really sure what I should be messing around with in fl to change the sample and yet make it not sound like a robot puking?
Example of the vox I'm talking bout:

Despite owning FL for around 4 years legitimately I have never checked their forum. Wish I did when a 1/4th of my album corrupted last year.

How to fix corrupt project files.

I had a corrupt project file once, and couldn't get it back. What I do now is just save a new version of my project every time I make any sort of change to it so I can prevent corruption.
