today's tune is on a much darker note, and I'm almost 100% certain will remain a dubplate forever...

Re: Quiddy's forgotten tune * Benga & Kutz - Kutenga

Post by Blerim » Wed Apr 13, 2011 9:33 pm

today's tune is a 2009 collab by Benga and Kutz which, along with "I'll Kut Ya", was originally set to be released on digital soundboy. It didn't happen, and I'll Kut Ya got given out for free by rinse fm in 2010, Kutenga however is still unreleased...

Only found out the name of this a few weeks ago, I always assumed it was a Kryptic Minds track. Couldn't believe it hasn't been released; remember Youngsta playing this almost every rinse show last year. Not sure when it was made but my guess is '09. Big up DJ Madd, big riddims everytime!

@spydee: yeah I heard that Benga & Coki riddim in a recent Chef set, I think it's brand new though?

today's tune got a different kinda groove, I thought it would be appropriate to post in light of her recent EP with Reija Lee getting released. Badboi unreleased tune from Kito...

Re: Quiddy's Forgoten Tune Thread * Joy Orbison - Smother

Post by Blerim » Tue Apr 19, 2011 7:33 pm

todays tune a massive one... cut from his Doldrums mix back in June 2009, Joy Orbison - Smother. Probably my favourite tune hes produced, will be such a shame if this never gets a release of any sort.

Edit: also, happy 4.20 for all my high (and low) grade smokers! all the best

Quiddy's Forgoten Tune Thread * Dub Mechanics - Highest Stra

Post by Blerim » Fri Apr 22, 2011 12:13 am

today's tune a year old now (at least to my knowledge) and I haven't heard any plans to release it.

First heard it at DMZ back in October/November and I instantly was hooked, especially since I hadn't heard of Dub Mechanics before... reminds me of some of Quest's stuff like 'Eden'...deep tune :R:

Blerim wrote:First heard this about a year ago, frustratingly never found much about it (mainly because when you type "cyrus - alone" into google you get a ridiculous number of pages of 'Leave miley cyrus alone' :u: ) I originally figured it was coming out on Deep Medi with Manhatten Blues (just guesswork) but its still a dubplate...

I love that eerie noise on the first beat of every 16 :8:
