@unabomber - fuckin' ACE dude. Really really nice combination of sounds and synths that would otherwise not seem like they could fit. That's real talent. Awesome production quality, really have nothing bad to say. Sub is on point, big time!
@dookiehowser - I think it's too small a sample to really give some good criticism. Like the kryptic minds-like incidental you've thrown in and bassline seems pretty decent
@charliefoy - god damn man, that intro is beautiful. Bass sub on those kicks are a really nice touch! Also that pulsing bassline that comes in every now and then breaks it up quite well. Kudos to you man, well done!
@petemiles - sounds like every other datsik and excision track out there, but I like that style. Would personally like some tips here, just general things you do :) haha. Good work :) I think the synth in the breakdown doesn't fit that well, but the breakbeat you introduce is great!
@tripwire - dunno how you do it man but you make a bitcrushed formant somehow work as a pad... Really nice work. Love the minimal feel!
@bradicle - not my style but it's pretty good. I feel like there's a bit too much going on though, it sounds a bit muddled?
@lordbid - love that lead synth and those little machine samples are freakin' awesome. Some good variations, nice use of panning and stuff as well (though maybe a little too much hard panning?)
@nhrc - gotta chill man, sometimes it just happens that way. The more you give I've found the more you tend to receive feedback, but not always the case ;)
@gonzodj - pretty nice man. Big burial feel there. It's missing some bass though. For such a spaced track, definitely lacking in the bass department.
@nicorisone - definitely not my kind of music, but I think you've done pretty well. Probably a bit repetitive at points, but overall I think you did a good job.

I've wrapped up Evolve for this month, not going to do anymore until I get my speakers where I can give the mixdown the attention it deserves. Until then - this is my latest attempt at a dancefloor filler:

@sigmund floyd i like the ideas and the way u keep things fresh and new with the progression but something sounds a bit off maybe too digital in the beginning

@bradicle Not my type of track but sounds well produced like the vox and strings though

@UnitedFruits love the dub style sounds pretty good to me mate

@tek_selecta not my style but i do think its well produced and i like the sample i wouldnt change anything

@Astral sounds decent but the snare isnt hitting hard enough for me id have to hear more of the tune to say more

@gonzodj So far the tune with the most uniqueness i was reallying feeling this one

So yeah, already posted some dubstep in here at the beginning of the month, but I scrapped that and started a new tune(drum and bass) haha

Soundcloud

this is literally just an extract from the break into the chorus as my intro isnt even started yet (i work in weird patterns) would be cool to see what you think!

Aaaanyways. Working on another one now, but may as well get some more feedback on the track I'm 90% finished on.

Check out my sig, or click below:

Soundcloud

I'm working on a more dancefloor, dubtech style track atm which has come out of nowhere (yay!) so will post that up in a few days :)
Really mellow tune with a pretty grabbing melody when it comes in later in the song. My only feedback might be to add some more atmospherical elemtents in during the middle section... maybe a light pad or something... to make it seem not as thin. But really digging it.

amphibian wrote:@grime syndicate - your first track, I think the snare sounds a bit too meaty for the kind of sound you're going for. Could just be my headphones though (cheap ass ones at the office!). Your second track however, I think has a really nice mood to it but I feel as though the phaser use is a bit heavy. That said, some of the parts to the song work really well, such as around 1.08 where you've got that high-passed wobble. Did you make this yourself? I think the breakdown here is fantastic and the mood + buildup back is excellent. The bitcrushed synth after the drop however, I don't think fits as well.

Unfortunately I got no ideas for your first track, sorry :(
I cant find anything I don't like... maybe the snare could use a bit more boosting in the high range, or IMO some more reverb. However maybe thats not the sound you are looking for.

Grime Syndicate wrote:I did make that. At 1:08 is where the heavily phased and wobbled foreground bass exits and there is a high pitched sorta sweep wobble that serves as a transition into the ethereal bit which comes back for a moment. (I think this is what you're referring to.) Yes, I made that sweepy bit in Albino from Rob Papen. I love that synth. I made everything really. The ethereal bit is the combination of a few different things, one of which is a pad patch I didn't do much to. If it ain't broke, don't fix it I figure. Everything else though, was either from scratch or a heavily altered patch. But thank you. I'll take your comments as saying I'm on the right path. I've only been producing for around 3 months, but I feel like I've made some really decent progress. Thanks for the feedback.
I like the bass and lead into the drops. very smooth. maybe u could add some sub bass after the drops though, it could make the tune seem even more massive then it already is.

@ironik - Ok so your first song - has some great ideas for sure and it overall good flow. However your midrange basses are obnoxiously loud and dominate the mix way too much and is overly distorted. There is a horrible white noise fuzz that makes my ears bleed. I think less distortion and maybe a little break or a switch-up in that main bass noise would be welcome.

Second song - I liekd this one much better, but once again your over-doing it on the distortion a little bit, tone it down. and your mix-down needs work. kick sounds weak to me. Overall Great composition though and nothing is wrong with your songwriting in my opinion just that over-distorted bass sounds too sloppy.

@amphibian - You god some cool atmosphere and panning in here that I likes! Something about this doesn't seem to flow with me quite right. I think the delay on that bass could almost go on a little longer maybe? I dunno im at a loss for this one has some great sounds and fx though Im curios to hear the full song.

amphibian - rhythm caught me off guard when the kick came in, which is a good thing. Keeps my ears 'on their toes' so to speak. drop is heavy and deep, not at all too distorted and i'm loving that you got the gritty feel without the gritty noise. keep working on this, wobbles are dooope

stebrah - one thing this is missing is an actual drum sample... i'm a sucker for sampling my old winstons lp, but if an amen isn't close by i'm sure you can find one on the web. highpassing a break underneath so that the shiny high end comes through will fill out a lot of missing space here. Good arrangement, liking the small glitch/stutter edits. DnB is hard, 90% of the dnb tunes i make i don't even post because they are shite :(

BishBosh - Big drop, not quite enough sub. Kick needs some work. I want some weight in that bitch, although it could be youtubes compression. Techy and racey, pretty dope. Needs a gangster ass vocal sample

Naider - needs more space, i would just delete about 15% of your basslines and leave room for things if it was mine. Sounds a bit too full in my opinion. Cool hi hat line and quarter-step intro idea

gonzodj - Besides possibly bringing down the rimshot a tidbit, No feedback, i love this track. You got the Chilled knob cranked and broke off on 11. I'm amazed when you can hear the love someone channels into a tune. Got yourself a new follower on sc,

Here's my newest tune (The only one of 6 new tracks i've made that i like this week)
Only a few hours work, but i'm a little bit stuck and don't know if i should start the finishing touches.

@ Streetxlite
I LOVE it!! Not really a fan of the "yuh" sound since I find it a lot overused, but i love the melody in the back and the intro, also like all the random sounds in there, good job!
@gonzodj
I like the garagey intro, but I feel it's weak when the bass kicks, definately feeling the burial vibes on that one though..I just feel like it lacks low end..otherwise i love it man really chilled :)
@ Neff
Pepperspray:I thought is was gonna be nice, but I don't really like the synth when it drops..definately lacking lowend and feels really rough..you could stick a sine under there and soften the lead by filtering it a little bit more
Reflectors:I really like this one,you got some great vibes going there..but I don't know why I think it would be sick as a liquid dnb song haha but whatever (maybe a vip haha) love it man
@Amphibian
Wow.This one is fucking sick man,not much to say expept..FUCKING FINISH IT! Can't wait to hear more!

Ok,so this is the track I posted on the last page, but I got rid of the midrange bullshit, stick a sub in there mixed up the drums a bit and change a bit some of the sounds..what do you think??(I'd like to know if the bass level is okay, because through my monitors and sub,it sounds good..but through my headphones it sounds too loud..)
