I get your point about the eski stuff getting rinsed hard. There's still too much sick stuff though :U: :U: :U: .
Those are better. Don't mind the recycled eski noises aslong as it has something new and different on it. Too many songs are JUST rearranging existing sounds, have absolutely no way of linking it to the producer.

cheers PAL.

i've never been against what some beatmakers produce anyway. it's just the guys who think what they're doing is original. the hate that topmanlurka® received after that percy video was first put up was emotional.

see where you're coming from, fair play. however for me just cos there recycled sound makes no difference if the track sounds good. i know its not the same but i hardly get pissed off if I hear amen breaks coming into a track
like you (muncey) said u weren't feeling Arctic - shook cos its got an ice rink sample in....but for me the track is fully sick, proper tech, broken jagged beats, fully fresh regardless of what samples appear in it

The sample is why I don't like it though, its not needed.. its a decent track and I think it'd sound better without the Ice Rink sample. Instead it has the sample like hundreds of other tunes and gets bundled in with them. Because of how popular the Ice Rink sample has been in the past few months just feels like a cheap and easy way to get a track more popular.

TBF I don't know when the track was made maybe it was made before the ice rink hype, if so then its unfortunate lol.

Listened to every single track from Grime 2.0 and I must say I don't feel any of the tunes except maybe for Slackk that sounds like an outtake from his last year EP and Sinden which reminds me of Rabit's Satellite. I wouldn't play any of the tunes out and could imagine Slackk and Bok Bok doing the same. Tracks are either too trap or dubstep but either way certainly not future or experimental. If they'd want Grime 2.0 they should rather go for Rabit, Logos, Moleskin, Pedro 123, Bloom, Missingno, Acre, SD Laika, PJam. K-Ro, Champion, Blackwax... These two releases alone mean more to me than this whole comp tnh

Its strange how out of no where a ton of track have the ice rink sample it them. I think the eski stuff does have a little bit of longevity. When wiley did the devil mixes it sounding like nothing else around but in my opinion some of those's tunes are poor. For me WILEY - BIRD TUNE (DEVILS MIX) and EAST CONNECTION - WE'RE READY (WILEY DEVILS MIX) are the two tunes of the devil mixes that really work. I thought the devil mixes were more of a idea and for me its still a interesting one.

Nice tracklist, pon the d/l . Seems like writing people for tunes paid off, the more exclusives the better imo :4:
