No. No you don't.
I started watching it last year and never even bothered to finish it. Got all the way to the middle of the last season and just thought "fuck it, this is shite!".
I'm the type of person to finish something if I start it but this was most certainly an exception to that rule. Utter gash.

I was that way with Lost.

Yeah Lost is a prime example - saw it through to the end and was piiiiiiissed. Even so, Lost is infinitely better than BSG.

Wanted to watch this for years now...

Not really a fan of films that use non-linear narratives, found it a little annoying. Especially at the end when I was tired, and getting bored of the film.
None of the characters where that interesting, and I couldn't really relate with any of them, I didn't care for the lead character which made it hard to care what would happen in the film.
Acting was good, dialog was ok.
Music was very good, nice and subtle. Worked it's way into the atmosphere of the film, but not something I would sit down to listen to.
No graphic violence, nudity, or explosions for eye candy.
At least it wasn't some generic shit.
Would watch again, and hopefully not be half a sleep by the end.
On first watch I don't understand the hype with this film, maybe I was just expecting too much.

I am exactly the same way m8. I always watch tv shows start to finish (all the seasons), and very rarely quit a show after completing the first season. but the last 2 seasons of Battlestar Galactica were painful. it was just so damn repetitive, same old story again and again. it started getting really shit after they landed and colonized that planet with the Cylons.

Lost was the fucking shit though. Probably would be #1 ever if it weren't for The Wire.

Lost >>>>>>> BSG.

***Contains spoilers about Lost*** (but really, who cares)

Lost, in it's entirety, was painfully bad. It had excellent character development and was intriguing as hell but had ZERO, ZERO story line. It wasn't actually about anything. You spent five or six series learning about secret numbers, the Dharma initiative and their experiments, pods, strange smoke clouds etc. so your sitting at home thinking 'oh, this is connected to that and I reckon this means this but waht does that signify??' etc, etc.... Then you find out none of it means anything. At all. They're just a particular group of stnuc who died in an aeroplane crash.
It's one of the greatest TV cop outs of all time, on par with Dallas' 'the whole of season nine was a dream'.

imo

I really enjoyed it. Most people in the cinema appeared to hate it and some walked out. To quote 1 couple "what the fuck is that stupid language they talking?"
It was really quite uncomfortable to watch and some of the scenes were incredibly brutal.
I lived in Bangkok for three years and I think he did a brilliant job of portraying the atmosphere and shadiness of the seldom seen side of the city.

I think I watched up to series 3 and then a couple episodes here and there but it just didn't seem to change regardless of how many weeks I missed.

Lost started off well, but you started to get the feeling by the third season they were just making it up as they went. I think I got as far as the second last series before I gave up

Was the same with prison break and heroes, were both decent to start with , but lost momentum pretty quickly

I made it to episode 2 of Lost I think. The Polar bear showed up and I almost instantly turned it off.

Awful. Actually, Lost is the main reason that it took me until this year to get into big, long American serials. I figured they were all shit excuses to get you to watch 24 hours of advert breaks.

But then I watched Boardwalk Empire and The Borgias.

Solid decision!

I got to the end of season two with Prison Break and sacked it in. Watched Heroes till it was cancelled (what a mug).
I think a new series of Dexter has started recently but that's been poop for a few seasons now. Not sure i'll be going back to that..

@Mirren - there is - "Recommend me a TV series" http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.p ... +TV+series

Stick with Borgias - the first (feature length) episode does quite a bit of scene-setting, but once the story gets moving it's incredible. I guess it's in a similar vain as The Tudors and Rome, but after watching the first few eps of both, Borgias is a LOT better.
