but do what now?
dont use loops that someone else made
~You ever heard of sampling?
I believe he's talking about pre-built loops like garageband type stuff where somebody else made patterns and user just puts em together with no effort.

but @DM, that tune is in his SIGNATURE, he wasnt asking for feedback on it. And that tune was made for the Sample Pack Contest, so he almost HAD to use loops
...in my opinion

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Wow this thread moves too fast for me! A lot of good music has been posted.

@oprs: I realized i had been checking out your soundcloud page even before i posted my track. I like all your stuff actually, quite a distinctive aesthetic, but still varied at the same time. I like the sounds you use. I'm switching to making mineralstep, well just that and 'bro dungeon lol.

@urbannerd62: I like that new stuff you posted a lot.. Very melodic.. I keep thinking it has a bit of an 80s vibe to it. At the risk of repeating myself i like all the sounds you use.

@zerbaman: I thought the track you posted was very well produced and thought out. I like the vocoder stuff a lot, i tend to think of the vocoder sound as kind of cliche and overused but i think you used it very tastefully and it works really well.

Here is something that i've been messing around with on my netbook for a little while here and there. Kind of a collection of sounds and rythms right now i just started arranging it into more of a linear track:

It's only 2 minutes this time, sorry about that last one lol

zekk tekk - hi hats feel too "jolly" for the track if you understand what i mean? Other than the tune sounds really good, and different which is good.

um4mi - very interesting tune, i enjoyed the beat and rhythm changes. The synth in the beginning kind of annoyed me though, maybe it could be a little more crisp and not have so much of a static sound, but i guess thats personal preference. Overall your onto something, keep up the good work.

therebel730 - good start, it had me moving definitely will be a dance tune. I'm interested to see how this turns out.

Here's one I just started, haven't done much mixing yet. Any feedback will be appreciated. Lates...

Started this today, not happy with the mixdown or some of the sound design yet but I think the construction will stay pretty similar.

Not quite sure how to finish a track like this cos I've never tried this style before, Glitch Hop/Very mainstream;

Soundcloud

@sweetjames - Intro leaves a lot to be desired. Too dissonant for me, not enough going on either, very little tension to lead into the drop. When it does drop the wobbles are fairly good but the track feels too empty to carry any real power. Need to work on the mixdown quite a lot. Overall the track does show promise but you need to sharpen everything up and sort the melodies in the intro out. Really enjoyed the high pitched bleeps that come in now and then, best part of the track, they were tasty.

@um4mi - Quite liking this, lovely 8bit vibes. Melodies are pretty neat, sounds all sound suitably videogame-esque. Love the glitchyness of the whole thing. No real criticism except the chord stabs sound like they could be a bit more interesting sound design wise. Bit too much like two saw waves at the moment XD

@zekktekk - Drop the mc XD backing track was pretty cool and funky but the vocals were dry as hell. Props on the funky melody work, had a vibesquad feel to me. Really hated the high pitched bleeps that come in around 1 minute though. Drop them for sure, or seriously change the sound design. Mixdown sounded fairly decent but a bit flat at the moment.

i think it might just be the levels. im not really working with any good equipment so i can never really get my mix down right. i think some efx on it may do the trick ill look into it. (Y)

om4mi - this is amazing got a really nice chill vibe alongside with the hypeness off it. kinda meets the oldschool way of garage with the spacey kinda synths of today

mistafy - i agree a singer like soundmouse would make this a beast. i really like it. i think think the kick is abit too much. needs to be mellowed down alot

Soundcloud

if you would like to check out my chill vibed song.

thankyou

Er, maybe next time just put everything in one post instead of triple posting yeah? This thread is cluttered enough as it is.

Gonna post my track again so it doesn't get buried under that triple post.

um4mi I love those wierd noises, reminds me a bit of tippers tunes. Nice smooth overall sound. Good work :)
metzz nice beat, the sounds of the beat sounds a bit like hip hop. Very chill, loving that type of string in the intro. The sub adds alot to the track! Nice!
paravrais love the blippy plucks in the background on the drop. I think the drums could be more in your face, maybe add another layer on the snare. You could also try to add a classic break sound on it ;-)
My latest clip, 100 bpm shizznitz with a typical dnb reese :)

These are two demos that I put up on youtube. I spent only 4 hours combined on both of them. I am editing them right now.
I just want to know what you guys think, these are my first attempts at dubstep and I'm trying to get my own unique sound.

Wicked thanks for the feedback guys. With regards to the reverb on the vocals i am aware of it and this will be done in the mixdown and master of the tune which im going to do next week when I find time. Thanks for listening and giving the time to do some feedback for it. :) :dunce:

@um4mi- its very abstract. i like it but its not something youd play at a club. mixing seems pretty top notch, no sound crowing each other although there are times when it seems like alot of them are playing. i dig it though, keep up the good work.

@sweet james- I like it but it doesnt stick out. love the bass sounds but so many people are making the same thing these days. nice sub though, that shit fucking rides. fill your track more, and less reverb. makes those kicks and snare more punchy. i like it alot though, good work man

@parvaris- intertesting tune, that cowbell or whatever that thing is throughout the song is kind of annoying though. the synth later on comes in kind of hard and doesnt match up the flow of the rest of the song. i like the drums though. :W:

@metzz- good flow but that sub is a bit loud, take it down a notch. gets a little repetitive , so maybe change the beat up sooner. intro is interesting and the beat is great.

@ninthy4- good sound but that bass destroys the rest of the song, and the drums are a bit stale. keep up the good work though.

@plorksickle- good job for your first song. its a bit stale but thats normal for beginner producers. find a way to beef up your song and your bass. work on your transitions a bit. also, feedback other people man, its polite.

here's a little something i started today. :Q:

track isnt really missing much but in my opinion, bass should be quieter, the drop can hit harder if you cut out everything for a second before the drop, and you need to add atleast 3 feedback responses to other peoples' tunes

@ mistayif: dope chill track! love the atmosphere it has.

@um4mi: digging the different vibe. loving that high synth that comes in at about 28 seconds and when he beat picks up. haven't heard much like that

@metzz: the intro pulls me in. its so good when the sub drops but like a few others have said you should change it up a bit and keep it interesting.

Here is my WIP, my first track ever. ive been concentrating on the sub a lot more than anything else atm. looking forward to feedback
