A lot of nights here don't even open until 1am Friday night/Saturday morning.

You finish work at 3pm on a Friday, then home, sleep for a few hours, dinner with the family ~10pm, then out for pre-drinks around midnight and in the club for 2ish.

Can't remember the last time I stayed out ALL night when I wasn't just getting smashed.

Not a bad idea, that. Club culture for people with actual shit to do.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a pretty growing market for that sort of thing... it's not like our generation has got bored of club music as it's got older, had kids and got a proper job... I'm not ready to prop up the bar at the local jazz club*.

I hate sleeping in the day, so that'd be no benefit to me really. Can't do it at all. My girlfriend is like a cat, if she isn't doing something for a minute, she can just go to sleep and wake up at the drop of a hat. At night, I'm fine, out as soon as my head hits the pillow.

Fuck Europeans. Night time is for sleeping. I remember we visited a friend of mine in Hamburg, we went round some student's flat for pre-drinks. Didn't leave the flat till pissing 5 in the morning, me and my mates were fully zonked. Least enthusiastic night out ever, and there's only so many times I'm willing to get the train back from a night out in the snow with rush hour commuters. :cornlol:

I think it finishes at 1 but it's not exactly a normal club event since its held at some Jazz club and seems to be "live" sets only. I need to sort my ticket out.

Not remotely a fan of the idea of clubs closing earlier. I just see a lot of problems.

If it's a club night with djs I want longer sets if anything. Especially with multi genre guys like Floating Points, Gaslamp Killer, Theo Parrish, Moodymann etc. or techno djs who can play long sets. Unless you had them play from 8 til 12 on their own. Then there is no structure to the night and it's just one awkward set.

Plus I like the possibility with hanging out with mates in the evening before the club. Otherwise it's not massively social.

Plus last year I use to have a day of uni lectures. Two hours of Muay Thai in the early evening, two hours of Jeet Kune Do from 8 til 10 and then go home shower and go out til 4-5am fine.

tbh i hate it when headliners go in early. just means i'll miss them and then i'm stuck with some random djs i never heard til like 5-6. i don't mind that as an afterparty though

I think "our" parties are as good as theirs tbh (think Flanders + the large metropolitan areas of NL).

yes but not as frequent, not so many and so diverse also the soundsystems in Belgium are lacking, don't know how it's like in Nl but A'dam was good but ...
also the line ups in the uk are ridiculous

I really disagree, maybe in Nl but in Belgium you don't see that many (or none) grime/juke/jungle/some that I'm forgetting (or I've been looking in the wrong places).. Yes you have big line ups but can't compare it to London/UK really
agreed on the hard stuff, plenty of that around here

Both are fucking smashers, but the original is better. No matter how much shit you talk about either version tho, if they drop in a rave, you're gonna skank ya bum off.
