Dogtooth, good film.

Meant to be a bunch of great Greecian directors at the moment but haven't checked out the others yet. This is supposed to be good;

Suicide - Ghostrider in the trailer, how could it be bad?

FINALLY got round to watching Adaptation., damn what a film.

Simplistic description here, does the job though;

"Charlie Kaufman might just be the most genius screenwriter (I daren't say ever) at the moment. I mean, trying to adapt a book for a screenplay, not succeeding, yet in the process writing a screenplay about how you can't seem to adapt this book for a screenplay. Oh yeah, and also being helped by your not existing twin brother, and crediting him as co-writer, and being nominated for an Oscar together with him.

Is anyone following this?

Kaufman seems to be the master of destroying the line between reality and fiction."

Then all the clever/funny elements and sub-sub themes of what the film is actually about sit within that frame, brilliant.

Adaptation was just OK, imo. I appreciate the skill it took him, but as a film, you know, a finished product, it was just OK.

The Master (2012)

Interestingly paced... I was engrossed by the end, but found it a little difficult to get into the swing of it for some reason. I guess this is about as close to a biopic of L. Ron Hubbard as you can manage without getting assassinated.

Machete.
If you want a decent plot, and good dialogue go else where.
If you want machetes, guns, explosions, blood and, tits :W:

Nicholas Cage is worth the time spend watching adaptation. I think it's brilliant though.

That's the only line i can remember him saying in the film :lol: . It was beautifully shot but the story was painfully boring.

Let's not get into other again but drive works on that way. It's believable and deliberate

Its good, bit more serious than the other too but still wirth a watch.

Saw Elysium last night, was good popcorn movie.
Its not till I left and was talking to my gf did we say "well hang on.. what about XYZ"
Looked great though and they used some cool angles/filming tech
Heard a bit of Burial at one point and Kryptic Minds- Six Degrees is used for a good while background music (with nothing being spoken over the top)
Worth a watch.
Might go see Kickass2 next week as that was what it was between this week.

Black Cat, White Cat (1998)

Beautifully shot, farcical comedy set around small-time hustlers somewhere on the Danube in Serbia. The old men are truly wonderful. Bizarre, but wonderful.
