He's the fastest man that ever lived, has multiple world/Olympics records to his name and has won multiple gold medals across different Olympics.

Think he's got a pretty good claim, TBH.
Testament to his running ability, not athleticism. He hasn't proved his endurance, strength, agility, awareness, or reactions. He just ran in a straight line.
I'll give him this, he's insanely fast and the best at what he does, but claiming the title of "greatest athlete" is arrogance.
The 100 and 200m are the ultimate events of the olympics, the ones everyone looks out for. So for me the best ever in these events is the best olympian

why don't you just run in a straight line in the exact opposite direction of this thread?

All he said was he had lost respect for him. Lewis should have known better than to single out a specific country in relation to drug testing, obviously was going to get a bad reactions from the Jamaicans.

Lewis has no right to speak ill of anybody when it comes to fairness in sports or potential drug issues. Absolutely no right at all.

Did you see Bolt in that club the other night on the news? He was on the decks for a bit then stepped up to the mic, man has outrageous confidence

I'd be afraid of Daley Thompson. With a moustache like that it's game over when you press play.
Lewis was right though, I don't care if he was "bent" over a bar stool taking the Fist of Sonika.

Hey I'm taking what I learned from propaganda classes to start an argument for shits and giggles. Give me props, it's 8 AM and I still haven't slept.
Personally I like Bolt, the man's a ridiculous personality and a legend. But I honestly can't say he's the greatest athlete.

Lol

However Bolts got to be one of the most tested athletes since Beijing. We know there's been drug use in the Jamaican squad before but Lewis needs to make the call outside of the Olympics and in a way that doesn't make him seem like a tnuc. It may also be better if he got someone to make the call that handn't failed 3 tests.

I really don't think it should follow that because a certain event is the most popular, the athlete who wins it is the best olympian out there. The most popular very possibly, but the best overall athlete? Nah mate.

How else can you judge it? Comparing him with Phelps doesn't work, Bolt cant enter 10 different events every time

Bolt's been untouchable for over 4 years and has performed better than any human that's ever lived in his chosen field of Athletics. That makes him a pretty fucking good athlete.

There is no "best in the world" (apart from CM Punk and my brother's band) but psychology plays a massive part in sporting performances. I doubt he'd be as good as he is if he didn't rigidly believe he was the best in the world (and Phelps, Hoy et al the same). Let him do his thing.

Just enjoy it.

If staying awake required endurance, I'd be asleep right now. Pulling an all-nighter's the only way I'm making a dentist appointment at 10 AM.
