Stopped 'Gangster squad' half way through. I heard it was awful, but I didn't understand how it could be so bad with such a good cast. Some of the dialogue belongs in a Steven Seagal film.

Well, I agree, but at the same time it has a lot to say about certain types of racists.

and they actually are most of the time irl - so the point of the film is that it does something different than the films dealing with the same subject did at the time ,and that was to put you in the company of these people and that is not only technically a great idea when telling a story, but also
sort of a brave thing for a filmmaker to do.
On top of that it was quite raw and violent compared with most films that deal with a particularly american group of people - and in that way, honest. But yeah.. time ruin these sort of portraits most of the time.

Finally got around to watching The Machinist. It was truly an uncomfortable film to watch. Bale is a freak.

World war Z

Load of shit. Probably one of the worst films ive seen all year.

Nah World War Z was one of the most edge-of-seat action movies i've seen in a while, really surprised so many seem to hate it. That stealth bit in the facility was real spine tingling business.

It was bloody awful. The ONLY thing I found good was how they had the Dr that was supposed to save the world, trip up and shoot himself in the head within 30 seconds of being given a gun.

I know that is a sin seeing this classic at this point but i saw today the fortune cookie! Billy Wilder is god!!

Watched 'Children of men' on the back of 1000s of recommendations in this thread. Pretty average, with a good dose of terrible acting from that black dude.
