Call for tracks for podcast2.....[podcast1 mp3 inside]

Post by narcossist » Sat Nov 04, 2006 5:42 pm

Ez,
mainly cos my mates are lazier than me i've gotta do another one of these. As the last one was quite half-steppin i'm keen to make it as experimental as possible so if anyone wants to be on it please either pm me your links to tunes or send em by email to jcowton@hotmail.com.
Thanks.

[particularly keen to hear anyone doing stuff based on hardcore/jungle riddims or acid/techno stylings, two step inspired stuff too, any 140bpm takes on hip hop etc, obviously grime]

edit: just thought i'd better add i've a gash internet connection so i don't get to hear things on myspace/ can't d/l at home etc and have to go to the library for binge downloading seshs. If I haven't commented on yr stuff recently its simply cos the librarys net is down, not cos i ain't feelin it..

Tracklist for the last one was:

Wolf Man - Yagu Combat
El Rakkas - Murder Sound
Metalboxproducts - Boom Boom
DJ JSL - Eye of the Demon
Autechre - Second Peng [Thernody Re-fix]
Toxin - Templar Knight
Ekstrak - Mass Dampers
Narcossist - Flashback
Toxin - Conflict
Narcossist - Dry Toke
Seige - Body Bag [Ether RMX]
Parson - Night of the Hunter
Diverse - The Shizzle
Toxin - Murdah v5
Scopic - Transform
Herbal Medium - [unknown]
Radioactive Man - Uranium [Narcossist re-fix]

easy, must of missed this the first time round.

this mix is highgrade! a dope selection, sounds like shameless self promotion but pleased to hear my track roll out amongst such quality unsigned beats. Narcossist and parson's tracks steal the show for me.

defininately send some more bits your way, (on the more experimental tip)

looking forward to hearing the next one

whats this done in final-scratch/abelton/traktor?

ez ether. glad you like it mate, was done in ableton though tbh i'm not really into using it for mixing: eqs are harsh and curveless and the lack of a bit of platter pushing makes it kinda sterile imo, everythings just a bit digital too...

Bodybag is a dope track mate, thats why its on there :D PLease do send more stuff, and thanks for those loops to btw, think i've sampled em a few times lately.

thanks to everyone who's got in touch so far, yr chests..........

yeah i havent really got the grasp of digital mixing really, i'm not adverse to jamming and playing live in abelton etc. ive seen it pulled of to great effect. but pushing platter still wins hands down for me, mixing is so much more intuitive and tactile with records, but cutting dubs is'nt economical for me right now.

i spotted a couple of 'ether'esque noises in a couple of your latest beats.
good know there being put to good use. just starting collabing with seige again and it sounding fresh, so hopefully a few tracks heading your way soon.
