Surely men don't have a feminine side, if they did wouldn't that make them trannies?

But serious. This one girl I know said "Ohh, he's really in touch with his feminine side" about her boyfriend and I thought "Well fuck me, ain't that a bit, like, sexist? Coz' if you're implying that he's kind and nice and gentle, and thus, 'in touch with his feminine side' then you're basically saying that those traits only apply to a female and not a bloke, which is bullshit." And I don't hear ragmunchers saying "Ohh, my girlfriend is really in touch with her male side" innit?

Or do you mean that they dress in dresses and shit?

nah i think it really does just mean someone who can be sensitive, and i guess also someone who can talk to girls about girly shit as well, i dunno really its just one of those phrases that gets brandished about really.
and i guess you dont get the exact same phrase applied to girls, but you do find girls that can be "just one of the lads" etc, excuse the horrible use of the word lad etc i got attacked by a wasp and my vocabulary abandoned me out of fear

Wasps are stnuc. I'm scared of them. Like, I'll run out the pub garden when I see one. That's me in touch with my fucking feminine side right there, running away and screaming like a little girl when ones near.

i guess that makes me in touch with mine as well then, there is a wasp nest in the garden, and the slightest bit of sun means everyone in the house must fling all the windows and doors wide open, take off all their clothes and lie in the garden, whilst i sit in the kitchen trying to redecorate and get bombarded by all the little stnuc getting aggy at the paint and eating all the fruit lying about, meaning i have to retreat upstairs to the darkness where they wont go. fuck.

I think it's just a way of labelling someone who is more sensitive to how others feel. It's rubbish though, I'm really sensitive but I don't want someone to say I'm in touch with my feminine side, because I don't feel feminine. Unless it actually just means you're gay?

Nothing wrong with being in touch with your feminin side...has got me bare gash over the years trust. Its a proper knicker loosener.

And anyone disputing my sexuality over this id fancy my chances at saying i bet Ive slept with more chicks than you and that i reckon id have you in a fight. Lol

I think that phrase is wrongly applied to men who aren't chauvinistic, insensitive, idiotic pricks with nothing else on their mind other than how many pints they can down and "how many birds I've shagged".
Pricks....

Indeed... being a "nice bloke" got turned into "being in touch with your feminine side" at some point during the 90s.

I blame GMTV.

Pink is a girl-only color for about first 12 years of your life. After that it doesn't matter anymore.
