I just had a chat with my best mate asking him how Reading was and he said there was a Riot next to his tent in the Green Campsite.
Stewards came to put out a tent fire (anyone who's ever been knows about tent-fires) and were chased away. They came back with security and got chased away again. Then the telegraph pole was set alight and the stewards and security came back with police on quadbikes. They were chased away and their quadbikes were stolen. Eventually about 30 riot police turned up and locked the whole place off.
Did anyone see this? Has anyone got decent pictures or a video? My mate put a girl on his shoulders to take pictures so I'll put them up here if the thread is still floating when I track them down.
Anyway my point was gona be "wow look how different Reading is to any other festival" but my post is already too long

I hate dickheads at festivals who are there just to cause grief. I always get topless twats with their chests puffed out intentionally banging into me at festivals, begging me to kick off so they can kick my head in. No need.

I was in a right state the first time I went to leeds and blew up a wheelie bin by lobbing a bag full of aerosols in the big and dragging it on a fire.
Mind you anyone who was near the fire I ran up to and told em to move because it was going to blow and continually shouted similar things, everyone kept a safe distance and the bin blew to bits and we all cheered.

If you want to do the gas canister thing you have to do it safely as I mentioned earlier.
last year one of my mates made a small fire and some tit lobbed a canister on the fire and he didn't notice and carried on putting shit on it it blew up all over mine and another mates backs, that guys neck and melted a load of this other guys face.
My mate had to have it peeled off his neck and it took all the skin off, and this other guys cheeks were like bright red and melted with bit's of skin stuck to plastic dripping off.
it was horrific.

This is why I tell my mate we should try out smaller festivals with better music, Reading and Leeds have too many tribesmen.

I was there and yes. It was ridiculous.
Security got chased away, came back on quadbikes to break the crowd apart but got their quadbikes stolen, one of the quadbikes was set on fire. Which is fucking mad because that would be one badboy explosion.
Was pretty shit this year I thought, the campsites were tame and boring apart from the sunday. Glastonbury next year fo sho.

Happens almost every year at Reading. See my "unpopular opinions" post about festivals... Reading is for kids letting loose on their first nights out away from Mum and Dad armed with litres of vodka and, by that point of the festival, pissed off that they haven't managed to get any action like everyone else... steer well fucking clear.

I agree with this.
I live in Reading, stopped going to the festival about 03, it has gone downhill in my eyes, but sunday riots are a regular thing, seen portaloos on fire, people pushed over in portaloos, fire towers on fire before. dunno why people feel the need to torch the place. I cant hack the lairy little kids fresh off the leash and the rah attitute of it nemore. What sucks as well is glade is now mission away and womads gone elsewhere.

That's brilliant
FWIW Reading is one of the worst festivals I have been to, even TiTP is better.

Agree 100%.
First time I went my mate, who was 6'4", built like a tank and in his thirties got started on by pissed up kids. I wish I'd seen it but I was else where, he was pretty shaken up by it and he's a hard fucker, there must have been loads of them
