Maybe it has someithing to do with your soundcard settings?

ASIO is the fastest with as low a buffer as possible. Tinker with your set up for a while and see if you can improve things.

A firewire midi keyboard should be faster than proper midi or usb btw, so I'd be surprised if it was the keyboard itself... :o

its gotten worse for some strange reason...
i came back after 2 months of just mucking about on my laptop, and the keyboard is laggier a badger walking a treacle..

i put it on m-audio asio for the keyboard and the even using asio4 all..
changed all the settings, the audio quality lol.

its very weird..strokes chin..

Back on topic, it sounds like you need to spend some time isolating things on your system so you can find the root of your problem.

First up, download the latest drivers for all your gear.

Try a fresh install for the soundcard and keyboard.

If only certain plugins are laggy, try different plugins.

You mentioned that even Reason was laggy. Reason is never laggy, so I really do think it is your soundcard settings. Try the wdm/directx drivers and see if you still get the delay. If you don't, it definately has something to do with your ASIO settings.

The ASIO buffer size usually dictates the lag between pressing a key on a midi keyboard and what you hear. Try increasing the size, yet stick with the smallest value possible. Anything over 100ms will be unplayable imo... Mine is like 6ms or somethin silly..! :)

If you do all that and still get problems, post on the keybaord/soundcard manufacturers forum and email their tech support.

Finally, send me the keyboard and buy a new one ;)
