1. does it not have to be cleared before they can use, like when courtney love refused to let the bbc use any nirvana tracks in a documentary they made alluring to her being his killer (as a result they used covers and live tracks recorded at the bbc)

2. why were you watching waterloo road )obviously i am aware i had hollyoaks on, but WATERLOO ROAD, cmon!)

hahaha!

i'm not sure that they do need permission for use of someone's music in that context.. he would have got paid for use of the tune tho thru PRS/MCPS etc just like radio, i think they only need permission if it's adverts/theme music where it's the main tune..??

First Dubstep's on Neighbours and now Hollyoaks.

Dubstep is now officially gay.

I'm going to start buying Disco-Gabba now.

lol if they needed to clear it with burial/hyperdub, then they also better clear it with konami first.

I've never heard Amon Tobin on ads? I hear his stuff on loads of BBC documentaries and stuff though. I'm pretty sure Ninja Tune have deals with BBC?

Hearing your fav music on ads is lame though.

Anyone remember the hell Jello Biafra went through courtesy of his lame Dead Kennedys band mates when he refused to let "Holiday In Cambodia" be used for Levi commercials????? They sued the hell out of him for lack of promotion (i.e not letting Levi's use Holiday In Combodia) AND WON??!! Now they have a virtual monopoly on DK stuff and pimp it out to the highest bidder.

So much for the Dead Kennedys.

I always hear burial when my mates are watching holllyoaks or waterloo road they play it all the time.

They do not need permition because I remember Kode 9 being annoyed at burial on Top Gear.

The soundtrack for masterchef is the best! Play a drinking game anytime any Drum & Bass, Jungle or dubstep comes on you drink :D

I love this shit. Top Gear have been playing absolutely sublime music in certain episodes this season. Noticed Clint Mansell's work for Requiem For A Dream on there a few times and Venetian Snares.

Anyone know where abouts in the episode it occured?
