legalizing marijuana

Post by cosmic revenge » Tue Sep 08, 2009 3:12 am

why is there such a stigma against pot? to me, its far less harmful than alcohol, yet our country endorses alcohol like its something we can't live without. what are your thoughts?

let the legalization talk stand separately from the alcohol talk

substance hierarchies ain't the one

that said I'm for regionalized legalization, as like, pirate stimulus

I think people who want to smoke weed, need to smoke weed, and I think they should... legally.

I think whenever people compare weed to other drugs, it just stains the cause.

I don't smoke anymore but I support legalization.

yeah, but the rich alcohol and tobacco industries apparently finance most of the anti-marijuana lobby and campaigns, so each time you drink a beer or smoke a cig you contribute to maintaining the current status

I smoke, but don't 100% support legalization for a few reasons. I'd much rather it just be decriminalized, which it is in a lot of places, and more get added to the list every year. If big government is involved in it's legalization, I can't say I would want it.. if one day a bill is passed simply saying "ok it's legal now", maybe.. but of course it won't be that simple.

I support things like hemp farms, but government wants a large cut as well. Lots of people trying to get stuff like this shot down, because it provides great, healthy alternatives to practically everything on the market including food, clothes, paper, materials, fuel etc. The people running things don't want that because it makes it harder for them to get your cash. They like having a monopoly on those things.

but of course, what politician would turn his back to the large capitals running tings? only to make the people happy?

I'm for legalization, and if the government wanted to, they could tax it like they tax cigarettes. I'd rather California use money from marijuana taxes to pay off the debt than close state parks like they are doing now.

I'm undecided. I haven't really figured out whether the increased quality and loss of criminal activity would outweigh the increase in accidents, addictions, etc.

I've batted for decriminalization for a long time
but that doesn't mean there wouldn't be probs
(apart from corporatization & monopolization etc.)

For instance: stonedness generally lessens driving skills (whatever you might think)

All forms of cannabis/hemp use & growing must be legalized & decriminalized.

Root of all evil lies in UN declaration of 1971. This declaration banning hemp/cannabis among other substances, which was based on false testimony by one & only twice cursed Harry Anslinger, makes it impossible for all UN members to legalize hemp/cannabis.

Check out brand new UN politricks:

"19. Welcome the United Nations International Drug Control Programme's global approach to the elimination of illicit crops and commit ourselves to working closely with the United Nations International Drug Control Programme to develop strategies with a view to eliminating or significantly reducing the illicit cultivation of the coca bush, the cannabis plant and the opium poppy by the year 2008. We affirm our determination to mobilize international support for our efforts to achieve these goals;"

Of course hemp/cannabis is only industrial plant that can turn around entire petro-chemical complex and produce green industry. And of course cannabis/hemp is panacea or cure for all.

Drunk people get into fights soooo much, who fights when theyre stoned? It's fucking backwards and it does my head in that you have to feel paranoid around the police if you have bad red eye. Legalize it for fucks sake.

I'd like cannabis to be legalised so I can buy some decent hash or bush instead of the nasty overpriced hydroponic shit that you get everywhere these days.

i hear that a lot and the problem beats me:
so if it's stronger can't you just put less in the zoot?

there's concentrated food or cosmetics and shit, i wonder what success they have among some people and if they add water to the concentrated juice
