Record shopping in London?

Post by jongerre » Thu Sep 10, 2009 3:49 pm

Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Can anyone recommend the best places to go second hand record shopping in London or around London? I'm mainly looking for old garage records if that helps at all. Any info would be appreciated, cheers.

you'd probably be best off sticking to central london. there are loads around Berwick street in soho - notably sounds of the universe, sister ray, bm soho, phonica plus a good few more. Just explore! They're all incredibly closely packed together...

Another very good place is honest jons around Ladbroke Grove/Notting Hill sort of area. Enjoy

Thanks a lot guys. I reckon I might make the journey to dnrvinyl in Croyden. I had a look at their website and they have loads of old garage. Does anyone know how easy it is to get there and where I would have to get the train from? I have been to most of the ones around berwick street before and although bmsoho and s.o.u. were good for new records I don't remember them having much second hand stuff. However I do remember one really good second hand shop in that area does anyone have any idea what it might be?

Can anyone tell me where the best place to get the train from central London to Croyden is and which stop is best to get off if I'm going to dnrvinyl. Thanks again.
