Can anyone on the board give some advice on making a punchy, phat bassline please?

Ive made an attempt at a dubstep track in reason 4, but I need a nice sub to power the track. When I have my bassline turned up it clashes with my drums and the mid range riff.

Does anyone have any pointers how to create a nice bassline, and any tips on compression or EQing please?

you need to def EQ stuff out in this case.

low cut your drums. if you open an EQ up jus EQ out below 80-90Hz wotever sounds best to you.

also if its your sub intruding your midrange, then make sure you low cit your midrange again and make sure theres no higher frequencies in your sub.

its worth goin on youtube or whatever n see if theres video's for this kinda thing. also there are a few vids from Computer music magazine aswell as Future music magazine covering these kind of subjects, there worth getting hold of.
