Since 2006 the Electric Eliminators have been Glasgow's finest purveyors of Bass music, having introduced the city at large to many key players in the Dubstep/Grime pantheon via their Fortified Sessions clubnight. Artists such as Digital Mystikz, Skream, Rossi B & Luca, Plastician and Joe Nice made their Scottish debuts at Fortified, sharing bills with people like Mark Pritchard, Moody Boyz and Rekordah to reflect the wide sonic tastes of the night. For their 3rd Birthday bash they offering up two of UK Bass musics most formidable new characters and one of Dubteps definitive originals. Bristol boy Joker has undoubtedely come into his own these past couple of years with his slick brand of psychedelic thriller-funk, evident on tracks like "Gullybrook Lane" and this years face-melter "Purple City", and making him one of Britians most unique producers around at the moment. His counterpart for evening, Silkie, has made no less an impression. Silkie's debut LP for Mala's Deep Medi label has just been put out to hot hands craving more of his productions since his last affair, "Purple Love", easily one of Dubsteps biggest tunes this year. As if those two weren't enough to wet your appetite for bassweight, they also have in tow one of UK garage's true veterans. El-B has been deep in it since day dot, having participated in UK Garages transition into hybrid genres since 2000 and cutting sides for labels like Tempa, Heavy Artillery and Locked On along with his and J Da Flex's heavily influential label Ghost. Ineed it is safe to say that if it wasnt for El-B, Burial would never have started making music, and he has had a heavy influence on some of Horsepower, Kode9, Loefah, & Skream's earliest productions. As a testament to his innovations in UK club music, he has been the subject of his very own retropective tribute LP "The Roots Of El-B", compiled by Ammunition & dubstep documentor Blackdown, and featuring seminal tracks from his weighty back catalogue. He will be joined by long standing collaborator and hypeman MC Rolla. As always Electric Eliminators will be on hand for warm up duties, and the B.A.S.S will be lugging in their heavy boxes to ensure you can feel the vibrations, as well as hear em.
