Scream if you want to know the truth.

Post by iamadam » Fri Sep 18, 2009 1:40 pm

Taken from http://midi.dubroom.org/

"DUBROOM MIDIPACKS

It has come to our attention, that the midifiles are used without prior permission as basis for certain (online) artists who claim they think we put these musical works online for them to remix.

Artists like "Skream", even, makes uses these midi's as basis for commercial releases without even crediting this website and/or the producers of the original midi files. (just compare "Blue Eyez" with "Rock The Nation In Dub")

But just because we are now living in a time wherein midi has gone back to the studio does NOT mean you can use these files like they are public domain for they are not. "

Hmmm....

Its like the "so whats so wrong about using presets" thread, i think he is a good songwriter, skream does some shit that i would never think/dream of of doing and pulls it off, but this has ruined that idea for me personally...

If you did it, which theres nothing wrong about it, would you make it known that you pulled it from a midi file? thats the question. :?: :?: :?:

Hah, what about that Skream tune where is was basically a default patch with the default tune from a Reaktor instrument with drums on? I'm surprised no ones picked up on that one yet! (It was even in his Essential Mix...)

Bah, I only joined last month, so I'm not really sure what's been mentioned and has not! It was 2D, the wierd thing was hearing it in Reaktor before hearing it on the Radio!

Haha yeah, as for Blue Eyes though, it'd be alright if it was just one element out of the midi file, but its alot of the tracks in it, very disappointing..
