got the news early this morning that the man Roc Raida has passed away.....best of wishes to his friends and family...he was a living legend.....
Anthony Williams, better known as Roc Raida was an American DJ, turntablist, producer and member of DJ group The X-Ecutioners. Roc Raida has won many awards including the 1995 DMC World DJ Championship. In 2009 he told HHC Digital that he was inspired to enter the DMC championships after seeing Cutmaster Swift win in 1989 on a VHS tape Steve Dee showed him

RIP Roc Raida...one of my all-time favorite turntablists(that famous "Ninjas of Rap" bit they play in Scratch is one of the cooler things I've seen)

Absolutely gutted. Heard it from Mike Relm and couldn't quite believe it as he was only 37! Hip Hop and turntablism lost an absolute legend and a missive source of inspiration today.
I read it might have had something to do with a spinal injury but I'm not quite sure. Whatever it was, its a dark, dark day today. Reckon he's up there teaching God how to crab!!

Roc Raida was a legend!
R.I.P. he was one of my inspirations to get into turntablism and DJ'ing before I even heard of Dubstep.

Oh my days, that's the worst news I've heard in a long time. Absolute legend, pioneer and one of the nicest guys you could ever meet.
Out to his family, friends and everyone else who is effected by his passing.
I'm playing tonight and 'Raida's Theme' is getting thrown in. The cuts on that tune used to make my jaw drop.
Rock the Bells, Going Back to Cali, I Got to Have It, all classic routines that helped shape battling.
R.I.P

I was meant to see him at this year's DMC as well. I heard it was a kickboxing accident that put him in hospital. R.I.P Roc

Raida killed it already in 1995.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xE4ezpRq80k
I hear he has had an accident during MMA training.
"Anthony Williams p/k to the world as The Legendary Grandmaster Roc Raida has passed away unexpectedly today September 19 2009. He is survived by his wife, three lovely daughters, mother and friends. Raida was recently in an mixed martial arts accident, something that he has been practicing for several years. Although he had under gone two surgeries with great success, was released to an inpatient physical therapy facility and was in great spirits the past few days. This morning he started to have complications and passed. The family asks for privacy at this time."
