The essential mix is a high profile show and some seminal mixes have been aired over the years (the Tuff Jam mix from 1997 springs to mind) and can give invaluable exposure to a scene. Is this mix an accurate representation of the sound or an opportunity wasted?

i dont find that tracklist very appealing, they play the type of funky i dont like.

There are some truly awful tracks on there and a lot if sounds far too pitched up!

What a chance to play some heavyweight TUNE wasted. There were a few tunes played but here is a small selection of UK produced tracks that for some reason were not played

completely true. but what's also unfortunate is that crazy cousinz are known as being flag bearers for the "uk funky" genre - in this respect, alot of people will look at this tracklist and jump to the conclusion that the genre has little substance, which is far from the truth.

there's some great tracks on there (in fact the whole thing would be alot more respectable without the first ten or so tracks), but it's most certainly a club banger set rather than a genre showcase.

no doubt whatsoever that this would go OFF in the club though.

it's exactly the kind of mix I would expect from crazy cousinz, not my thing but big up for them. I wouldn't expect the best underground funky or anything from this mix and don't know why anyone else would
