New to making dub, Tell me if you like!

Post by THIZFACE » Thu Sep 24, 2009 8:36 pm

http://www.jukeboxalive.com/dsbjon

Im a 16 year old from metro Atlanta using logic 8, MASSIVE, and Dubstep Producer. I'm just trying to get a feel for what people like and don't like about my dub.

These are my 3rd and 4th songs, I just want helpful advice.

White Apple is original,it starts out kinda industrial, has a chill buildup, then becomes kinda odd and jungle-ey.

Then Stay Dub is my current pride and joy, Its a remix of Stay Fly by Three-6-Mafia and its pretty legit.

If you have subs, or a good bass speaker (the only speakers I have are my macs stock, not impressive lol) Can you please tell me how the drops sound, and the sub bass throughout the song.

Appreciate anything you guys can give me, much love, much dub.

mmm yeah i know exactly what you mean, you just have to stick at it and develop your sound and eventually you'll make tracks with personality, i think thats what alot of my first tracks lacked

sounds pretty cool to me man - i just hope you are learning what you need to know about synthesis and mixing etc. if you say you're new, then im gonna go out on a limb and say you didn't make those sounds ( or even heavily tweak, with some logic to your tweaks). ask for feedback, but don't worry if we like it or not. i don't think people produce dubstep for commercial success, we just really fuckin love the music. keep at it, and keep posting your tunes here.

Well the thing is, im new to dubstep production, I've been making rap and recording metal for about a year and a half now, so I know whats going on. Its more of a matter of not being able to construct dub the way I want it to sound, but thats just part of the learning process. The drums are all downloaded loops. Right now I'm in the process of downloading reason, which I think the simplicity of the program will help make things a little easier. I'll post up a new thread, and reply to this post if I post more.

To everybody here that listened I'd like to show you what reason did for me.

You probably won't believe its by the same guy, but I assure you, I just began using reason instead of logic.

I took everybody's advice while making this song and I think you'll agree when you hear it.

Thanks so much guys :C:
