NYC - Caspa @ LPR w/Stareyes & CodeofArms

Post by tacospheros » Fri Sep 25, 2009 7:50 am

anyone else make it out? i had alot of fun.

missed stareyes' set due to subway traffic, got there right when caspa went on . i gotta say, i dont usually enjoy most of his tracks in a solo headphone setting chilling in my room, but he definitely killed it last night. i would even go so far as to say that i enjoyed his selection more than skream and benga a few nights ago. while skream and benga clearly went for the jugular and murked everyone in the room , caspa played tunes with more space, more dubby , still wobble and i wont lie eventually alot of the tunes were sounding the same, but still. on saturday i felt like i didnt get a second to stop and think the whole night. not a bad thing. but last night there was parts where rod azlan quieted down, and the bass dropped , people were in the zone. it was cool. more space on the dancefloor was very nice too. still a really good turnout. and my homeys nebulla, dore and soroka closed out the night really well, heads were there till the lights came on

so , anyone else make it out? lol

solid turn out for a weds.

i'm hoping the sound is on point for everyone. i know the bass isn't going to get as heavy as love, but our room doesn't really assist in the pressure. higher ceilings, more square footage... regardless, want to make sure the room is sounding as good as it can because i want to keep bringing the d-step back to LPR, and I want people to come out to it.

and don't sleep on martyn/samiyam/starkey, etc.. the ticket is cheaper than any other dubstep event i've seen in NYC in recent memory, and i put this one together so it'd be nice to see a crowd. i don't quite have the reach as most of the promoter/party crews here in NYC (hence trying to go big with the line up and low with the ticket price)

i had fun :)

def a different vibe than sat, but still mad hype...

i gotta say i thought star eyes set was really good as well...

lots of jump upy dubsteps the whole night, but never got boring to me, signs of some good djs behind the decks....

it was also nice to see the younger crowd getting there skank on... i felt like a old man but 18+ ftw, love the energy...

this week has been crazy :)

sound was def on point man, i was out near the middle/back of the dancefloor when it was fully packed and me and the gf still had chests rumbling with bass. and yeah martyn is like one of my top5 producers right now so im def gonna be there. might make that my birthday party too :D

Does anyone know how to find Stareyes's track and if pictures have been posted yet from the show?

definitely was impressed with caspa's dj precision. thought it was on the whole a little tighter than skream and benga. different energy though. happy to have more space on the floor. i rocked hard, and abstract, the sound was superb both nights-- rageworthy to say the least. thank you. i was skeptical of the lpr room before seeing dubstep there.. only having seen an ambient set and some experimental classical in a sit down setting. star eyes was killin it. caspa was a nice dude too, grabbed a quick word before i jetted.

sorry codeofarms... dug your first tune but that long wednesday was gettin the best of me. will be sure to check you cats soon.

naturally i will be at martyn. dats the joint!
