This is my first post on the forum. I've fallen in love with Dubstep - I grew up with a lot of Dub played my my Dad - Lee Perry, Mad Prof, King Tubby. It's fucking great hearing this new style that has emerged from the darker stuff. - Such a good vibe, the crowd making the music are right on and the people on this forum seem friendly and happy to help - I just had to join.I hope this stuff just keeps ticking over and the scene stays small and true - From what I've seen, the attitude is just perfect and everybody should be proud of what they're doing. I'm loving the variety and how open minded everybody is. Too many other genres turn into pissing war cliques that end up with everybody conforming to sound identical, but it looks like the seeds are sown here to keep things as fresh and open as much as possible.
I decided to give the dub and other work a rest and start a Dubstep track this afternoon. This is just a quick snippet, but I'm pretty happy with it so far. It's far from perfect, I'm going to learn the basics and then branch out from there. I've been trying to figure out the bass, but I *think* I've got it sussed.
