what do people think of this...

this is the first completed track with the new equiptment i brought.

my mix down and mastering is pure amateur (to put it mildly), but hey ho.

the track is called 'Death In The Mind Of Someone Living' and it is supposed to be about realisation of impending death... and the feeling of regret, relief at dying, fear for the afterlife or just pride in the life you had.

damn bigup, i dig this, only thing that i don't like about it is the high "rusko-ish" melody int the start (melody is alright, the sound is the what i mean ) but awesome tune besides that

thanks for the feedback... i too think the sound is a bit high... ill try to fiddle more with it to bring it down a bit or put something underneath... thanks anyway.

ive updated the track with some 'limiter' plug in on the stereo out and some panning work to widen it a little.

the track in the first post is still the link as i deleted the track on soundcloud and re submitted the newer version.

@ pada... ill take that as a compliment since i think you can never go too dark. thanks for the feedback and i liked the tracks youve made... they are really crisp. perhaps i should go to college and learn more about production.

I thought the mixing was brilliant. I don't see the amateur at all. And great track. How did you get that lead rhino sound?

the 'rhino' sound was made using a cubase synth called mystic which i messed about with...

i played a note pattern (16bars) which i copied and bounced it out... playin it for a 3 min period... as the sound changed so much i choose the best 2 results over the 3 mins and sliced them as audio and used only them. the rest of the sound was much different, so i couldnt run the sound as a synth within the project.

so its having a synth that i like for some things and not others... if you can get the sound out of it... it might be better to use it as audio from then on.

you could have a track where the synth starts off great, but the sound changes over the course of a long period... or the sound becomes great as it moves over a long period.

i dont know how it works, but i try to find solutions.
