bring the filter cut off to about half way and up the saturation a slight bit, mess around with the resonance too and maybe layer in a sine.Province wrote:probaby just me but whenever i use em it just sounds too gritty, looking for something a bit smoooother ya get me.bandshell wrote:saws, squares and pitch bending I'd have thought?

Yeah Moogs+portamento with some clever playing. Specifically Minimoog.

I posted this ages ago, it may be what you are looking for:
In FL studio add a 3xosc channel
turn down the volume of osc2 and osc3 to get a basic sine wave running from osc1.
In the misc tab select the mono and porta buttons and turn the portamento up a bit on the dial (about 40%). Use a LP filter as well.
draw a melody in the piano roll but overlap 1 hit at the end of each note to get the porta sliding up and down properly.

Ha, I was going to say this but didn't. Indeed, the Minimoog was the sound. Those G funk cats named themselves after and were sampling P-Funk so do yourself a favor and buy some Parliament and Funkadelic and listen to some motherfunkin' Bernie Worrell. Seriously!! And may the funk be with you...wormcode wrote:Yeah Moogs+portamento with some clever playing. Specifically Minimoog.
Because you know...
Funk is it's own reward.
